I haven't confirmed this yet, I don't know anyone that knows for sure. I'm going to take a chance and post the story anyway. Someone said he was on yesterday. He wasn't today though. I don't rejoice in the downfall of others, but I do enjoy being right. In all the shows "Realtalk" has aired in the last five years, five at the most have been memorable. If Jennings Bernard had listened to me and others a while back. He would have seen the writing on the wall and changed his shows format. People grew tired of his predictable positions and statements. His ego and racist positions for which he is mostly known. Have caused him to become ineffective as a community activist. Neither black or white citizens seriously listen to him anymore. He has the same group of callers and listeners he had five years ago.
I didn't know when it would happen, but I knew it eventually would. For starters the show was moved from WMQM 1600 to WLRM 1380. The latter station isn't even in Memphis. The majority of original Realtalk listeners can't even hear the show anymore. The callers call in blindly. Oftentimes not knowing what the host is talking about. In spite of what Jennings Bernard would have you think. He doesn't have that big of an internet audience. Not many city and county employees are listening as he claims. The one core audience he did have he lost. When they moved him to a Millington radio station. In essence they took him off the air. He had built up a following of elderly listeners. They were just impressed that someone that sounded like them was on the radio. "Realtalk" is like the forerunner to "Express Yourself". Both of them are more driven by opinion than fact. It's just a matter of time before they take that show off as well.
Today was the day for Thomas Burrell and he didn't broadcast. I think it's official.
ReplyDeleteHey Common,
ReplyDeleteHe's back today, although I didn't catch the beginning of the show to hear why he was off.
Maybe he paid he bill -- LOL...
Anonymous 2:42,
ReplyDeleteI got a call telling me the same thing. Thanks for the update. Readers please forgive me. I sounded a false alarm. Jennings said he was having computer problems. He's probably telling the truth. I doubt it had anything to do with payment.
This guy really needs to find another example. He copies off the Thaddeus Matthews format as well as most of his topics.
ReplyDeleteJennings came back in a major way. I listened and watched his internet streaming today, and it was first rate. If we could just get his message to match his means. We would really have something. He is in the lucrative business of probation. People are constantly going to jail. So he has money to burn. Unfotunately not a comphrehension level to match. As much as he has invested in his show. He still hasn't made much of an impact.
ReplyDeleteHe's more or less just a patsy for those around him that he trusts. He played a whole interview from another show. Where they won't even mention his name. And won't even discuss anything he talks about. They refer you back to him. He can never count on those people that should be helping him out. He thinks he can surround himself with who he thinks is smart or likes. Then others will see him, as he sees those people. Those people don't want him to get smart, because then they couldn't use him any more.
I think Jennings has a good heart overall. Unless things don't work out. I bet he had visions to retiring to a life of public service. Picking up in Memphis where he left off in Jackson. The voters of Memphis don't agree.I'm sure he started out with good intentions, but along the way they just got lost. His desire to hold public office have distorted his views. Though he has proved me wrong for now. It's just a matter of time.
I am in fact grateful to the owner of this site who has shared this wonderful paragraph at here.
