Playground Politics

Today I was reading another blog, and I read where someone knew Thaddeus Matthews as a youngster in school. This blog isn't about him per say, but it is in a way. He has gotten himself entangled in the above candidate's campaigns. In spite of bringing nothing of real value to the table other than his bluff. The schoolmate described him as being a bully back in school. Since he has managed to escape death or incarceration. He still feels like he is back in school. He's like the kid that needed a male influence in his life, but he didn't have a father in the house. When you think about it, the word "bully" best describes him now. He has carried that same mentality into his old age he had as a child. He's smart enough not to hang around others with the same mindset as him. That's why he has lasted so long, and not ended up like his brother. They like him, have nothing to lose. Fools don't bother other fools.

This sudden all out assault on M. Latroy Williams is the handiwork of Paul Mattila. He's paying Thaddeus to do his dirty work, in the form of malicious advertising. A lot of people don't follow his lead, but they listen all the time. Smart people take information anywhere they can find it, discarding that they don't need. Matilla is the incumbent County Trustee who resides in Millington. It seems white politicians in Millington think Thaddeus can sway black voters in Memphis. ( Remember Terry Roland ) I said sway and not deliver. There's a big difference there. They're using him to try and slip in the back door of the black community. Not by having people to vote for them, but not vote for their opponents. Mr. Matilla might have unknowingly brandished a double edged sword. I probably wasn't going to vote for M. Latroy Williams anyway, but I definitely won't be voting for Paul Matilla now. His associations and tactics come into question. He's throwing rocks and hiding his hands. At first he had the advantage of being the incumbent. Now for people like me, even that has been erased. What he has done is put the spotlight on himself.

I think G.A. Hardaway and Eddie Neal are unknowingly at the root of this outcry by Thaddeus Matthews against Mr. Williams. Unless they've figured it out. For those that know the recent history of this saga. The shallow threats of Thaddeus started against G.A. Hardaway. He promised to lead the charge to get him removed from office. And put his full support behind Eddie Neal. When Hardaway didn't acknowledge him as being any more than any other constituent. That was all he needed to start his rant. Thaddeus likes to give the impression that he has pull with elected officials. Because with some,, unfortunately he does. Not with anyone that can help him with Hardaway. Obviously the other Democrats didn't get the memo. Apparently he convinced Eddie Neal though. Being that he has started advertising with him. On the other hand I suspect Thaddeus discovered he wasn't making much headway with the voters. So he's anticipating having to eat his words again. His attacks seem to have had the opposite effect as planned. G.A. Hardaway's appearances on WDIA, and good standing with Bev Johnson. Seem to do far more to help his reputation. Than Thaddeus and his band of followers can do to hurt him. At first glance G.A. Hardaway seemed to be an easy target. But is he really?

This is where this whole thing gets interesting. Remember how the bully was in control until one of two things happened. They met their match or the teacher got involved. Both exposing them for what they really were. Cowards who pick on people who can't or won't fight back. They can slip and make threats, but they can't really do anything else. In essence that's what Mr. Williams and Mr. Hardaway have done. In Mr. Williams the bully found someone to tell the teacher. In this case the teacher being represented by the courts. In spite of what he would have you think. The station isn't going to jeopardize their broadcasting license in support of his antics. On the other hand the bully has found his match in Mr. Hardaway. He is not intimidated in the least, and he makes it known. This isn't good for the bully's business either. Others might start to question how tough they are. Since Hardaway was threatened with the fate of former school board member Willie Brooks. It would be ironic if G.A. Hardaway turned out to be just the opposite. For lack of a better term or description. This is a prime example of playground politics.

Matthews has alwasy spoke half truths and when confronted with real evidence to contradict his theories he just dismisses them and never responds.

He's a deadbeat father and speaks out against the very same things he is and does. He's also a hyprocrit and a race baiter in my opinion.

Some of the things Mstthews says of Willaims are true though. He is 67K in default of County taxes, he is in default of his TN taxes for his buisness First Supreme Trust.

  2. Any sensible individual would see the same things you do. Yet some people flock to his site and take those half truths as gospel. They even have the nerve to try and argue with others based on information they've heard from him.

He has patterned himself after Al Sharpton, and some Memphians are snowed by him. He's just jumping on a moving train. Otherwise he has nothing to offer.

I know M. Latroy Williams and you are right. But believe me,if he had advertised with Thaddeus on his show. We wouldn't be hearing anything about him.Thaddeus tried to extort him and he didn't go.

Look at the article in yesterdays Commercial Appeal.

  4. Well I see if it wasn't for me you wouldn't have anything to write, and it seems that no one really knows you're here. First of all you have your facts twisted, I never approached Williams to advertise, his people Ray Nolan and Ed Davis approached me. I have not had a conversation with Williams in over 20 years. As one who advertises poli-trick-ans by law i must sell to any candidate it someone in the same race buys time.

You are correct that one of Williams guys did tape a conversation with me but the guy (Davis) who signed the affadavit denied live on radio of taking any part of a taping.

My conversation with him which was also taped which I do with any poli-trick-an over the phone says in detail that the payment of $5,000 is solely for advertiment and that while I will launch no personal attacks such as his living in a warehouse with a relative of Ricky Peets and other personal business that I am aware of I would neither support or endorse him but would continue airing the facts of his campaign which are that he owes $71,000 to the office that he is running for and that even though he registered in this race as an indepent hestates on his signs that he's a democrat.

Get your facts straight and maybe you can pull someone to your site.

Funny how Matthews has always downplayed you CVoomin but yet here is he trying to justify himself.

I'll admit I read Mathtews blog all the time but more for the entertainment value than anything else. There are ven times I can agree with him to a certain extent but those times are very far and few between.

So in Matthews post if you want to be successful like him all you have to do is engage in race baiting, half truths, lies and spin things only the way you want them seen. Sounds easy enough....lol

Your right about advertiseing, Matthews who says he can't be bought but yet accepted money from Herenton and was for him but is now against him again.

I guess when your such a deadbeat like Matthews anything is possible.

  6. Thaddeus,

That explains why your glasses are so thick. If you think all we talk about here is you, obviously you can't read or see. You need a stronger prescription. You're the one who has it twisted. You're suffering from illusions of grandeur. I just don't agree with your explanation. When this whole thing is over, we'll see whose right. We deal with verifiable facts on this site. Not your far fetched accusations. All you have here is an opinion, and I take that with a grain of salt. "This is my blog."

Since you're always on the news or in the paper. I thought that was the idea. To get people talking about you.You want people to talk and listen, you just don't want them to think. If I paid $1500 a week, and spent countless hours investigating as you call it. I would have more anonymous posters too.

A taped conversation is not the issue here. You keep bringing that up, because that's your only defense.I never said you approached him. I said you tried to extort money from him. You thought he would pay you not to run the commercials. Instead he took you and Paul Matilla to court.

Since you claim nobody is reading, why did you delete my post on your site? Could it be because people were leaving your site and coming over here? Do us a favor and come back when this whole thing is over. You can't delete my post like you did on your blog. Now we'll see who's right.

  7. Anonymous,

I must admit I do envy his blog's traffic.People would rather hear a well dressed lie, than the naked truth.I won't compromise my standards to appease them though. Thaddeus has acquired the status of a local "Perez Hilton." He deals in shock and gossip.I know this blog runs circles around his in content and accuracy. But I'm a black Conservative. Needless to say blacks aren't feeling me yet.

Both black and white flock to his site for whatever reason. Even the major local media outlets use his site for leads. Harold Ford Sr. proved that. That's not to say I'm not successful, just not commercial. I am proud of the list of people who regularly read my blog. I cater to a different type reader. You should know, you're one.

I go to his site as well as yours to read the local happenings around Memphis.

Alot of people who go to his site are like me, they go mostly for the entertainment value and to see what other conspiracy Thad throws out there as well as to read some of the most idiotic posts. I get good laughs off most of his posters and the only time he replies is when someone is kissing his ass or calls hin out for what he is.

If someone posts an intelligent response that opposes his views he comnpletetly ingnores it.

  9. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a big wheel in law enforcement. He put this whole thing in perspective. He said "the problem with Thaddeus is, some of the things he says are true. You have to have a standard of decency that you follow. And Matthews doesn't have one."

My Grandmother once told me "in every rumor there's a grain of truth." Thaddeus finds that grain and adds ingredients and makes a cake.Sometimes it rises, sometimes it doesn't. He has found a way to capitalize on the public's anticipation.
