Janis Is Drinking Again
Every time this woman gets behind the wheel, the media finds out. What was WMC-TV 5 doing at Fitzgerald's casino that late at night? Somebody had to tell them she was there. They went there specifically to get this story. With friends like hers, who needs enemies? Even though she was elected to the city council by a comfortable margin. There are a lot of voters who don't want her to hold that seat.I would venture to say that number has grown. There is no way she could win a city wide election now. She might even have a hard time being reelected to that district. People who she supposedly confides in, are sticking her in her back.
That pain pill excuse is wearing thin. She used that when she was in the auto accident last month. One of reasonable intelligence might ask. "If you're in so much pain, what are you doing in down in Tunica?" The place for you is at home. I have often said, "anyone that frequents the casino bears watching." Janis and several others are in that number. When you're down there. You're either gambling, drinking, or courting. In some cases all three. Depending on your situation you shouldn't be doing either one. Beyond her being back on the bottle. In Janis case little else matters. From that point on everything is downhill. I think we can safely assume. Janis is drinking again.

She never stopped.
Everyone is looking at the alcoholism, but she's a compulsive gambler as well. Why else would she be constantly busted in Tunica? She could get liquor anywhere in Shelby County.
She has an addictive personality.Everything she does, she goes overboard.
Thuddeus said Wanda Halbert called him and asked him to stop talking about Janice.
Janis Fullilove photographed passed out in car outside Tunica casino

Memphis City Councilwoman Janis Fullilove, who pleaded guilty in June to a DUI in Mississippi, was photographed this week passed out and slumped over in the driver’s seat of her car outside a Tunica casino.
In two photos obtained by WMC-TV, Fullilove, who said she regularly takes pain pills and has been seen playing gambling games on her laptop during council meetings, is seen passed out in her car outside Fitzgerald’s casino with what appears to be casino security looking on.
Fullilove, who is supposed to be barred from driving in Mississippi because of the DUI charge, said in an interview with The Commercial Appeal this morning that she did not drive herself to the casino "because I’m not supposed to drive in Mississippi and I know I’m not supposed to drive when I am on medication.”
She said she went to her car because she couldn't find the friends who drove her to the casino.
She said Fitzgerald's security officials drover her home.
“I was not drinking and I’m not addicted to gambling or medication,” she said. “I have a lot of back pain, and I don’t like to take the medicine unless I have to.”
Fullilove, the blond-haired council member from South Memphis who is universally loved by fellow council members for her down-to-earth and jovial demeanor, has a long history of problems driving to and from the casinos in Tunica.
Fullilove was arrested by DeSoto County Sheriff’s deputies in the early morning hours of March 21 after refusing to take a DUI breath test and spent five hours in the DeSoto County Jail. In June, Fullilove pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of medication in connection with the March incident and was fined $700. Her attorney said she was taking the medication for problems with her back.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating Fullilove for possibly falsifying information on a driver's license application after the March DUI.
THP investigators are looking into whether she broke the law when she applied for a duplicate after her license was confiscated when she refused the DUI test in DeSoto County. Fullilove did not mention the DUI charge when she applied for the duplicate, but instead said she had lost her original. Such a violation is punishable by up to 11 months and 29 days in jail, fines up to $2,500 and license suspension for up to two years.
In May, Fullilove was involved in a wreck while heading north on U.S. 61 when she collided with a southbound driver attempting to turn left. In that incident, Fullilove was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto while a minor girl in the other car was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center.
After the May incident, Fullilove said she was seeking therapy for an undisclosed medical problem.
In 1995, the former radio announcer pleaded guilty to drunken driving following a late-night, 1994 arrest after a concerned motorist with a cellular telephone alerted Memphis police to a reckless driver.
According to the police report on the incident, Fullilove was traveling north on U.S. 61 near the Mississippi border, when she ran four red lights after turning east on Shelby Drive.
The police report said Fullilove was swaying and unsteady on her feet, her speech was slurred, she was crying uncontrollably at times, and had to be helped to a police car.
Councilman Shea Flinn said he hopes his friend is getting the help she needs.
“I know she’s in a lot of pain, and I just hope that she is getting help with her pain management because that is dicey for anybody. But she has always been able to do her job on the council,” he said. “Any person who has to manage chronic pain also has to mange transportation because obviously you don’t want people driving.”
