Souter Is A Centrist At Best

After a closer look at the tenure of Justice David Souter. There may have been a method to what some consider his madness. Though many Republicans consider him a dud and his appointment by the senior George Bush a mistake. Him stepping down at this pivotal pont in history makes me look at him a little differently than before. Had Souter been the hard core conservative Republicans expected him to be. These last eighteen years would've been a lot tougher on the reigning liberal movement. The hard core right wing would have had a clear path to advance their agenda.

A conclusion I have come to about all lawyers I've encountered is, "at their core they are all Conservative." When you look at the makeup of the Liberal bloc of the supreme court They are just a group of Conservatives with issues. You can't be a Conservative if you're GLBT or if you're pushing the feminist agenda. If you feel a woman has a right to choose or you can marry whomever you like. You're automatically assigned to the left. I think this was the case with Justice Souter. He didn't totally agree with the platform. I have my unproven suspisions what I think it was. For this reason, Souter is a Centrist at best.
