Let's Keep It Real

Now we get part of the real story about the fairytale first couple. This is the first mention ever of trouble in paradise. I say part because this isn't all there is to the story. As time goes on I think we will get more and more admissions about their past. They both had lives prior to them getting together. You would never know listening to the media. All this does is confirm some of my suspicions about them. At one point I think this was a marriage of convenience for them both. One used the other for what they needed at that time. Her for her two daughters, and him for her to support him while he ran for political office. In the end they both got what they wanted. Not saying they aren't happy with the fringe benefits.

The fact that she was once his boss seems to get overshadowed. She was a successful lawyer, he was an intern. They talk about him being persistent in his pursuit of her,but now we know why. We aloso can see why she was playing so hard to get. Barack Obama married up when he got Michelle Robinson to be his wife. People refuse to talk about what's obvious or at least what they're thinking. Barack Obama comes across as being cocky and conceited. So I can't see him not having some piece of eye candy on his arm. How did this half white boy who was supposedly a hotshot lawyer end up with this plain Jane, nappy haired, black girl with funny looking teeth? Don't get me wrong I think the first lady is fine, but she's just average. So we won't be surprised when we find out they're just like everybody else. Let's keep it real.

  1. Wow Common,

As a man of God, I am disappointed in how you disrespected Michelle Obama. Regardless of your dislike for her as a black man, you could have refrained from talking about her appearance as you see it.

As long as I have been reading your blog I never read where you talked harsh about a prominent white woman appearance. It is rather sad reading your idolization of Laura Bush and then to read how you degrade Michelle Obama. Why you hate her so much?

  2. For starters,
Hello Blinders Off. How have you been?

I am sorry that you are disappointed amd feel I disrespected our first lady. But I'm only saying what others are quietly thinking to themselves. I know this isn't the first time you heard something of this nature. Why is it off limits to me? If nothing else it got you to respond. I don't know why my comments make you think I dislike Ms. Obama, to the contrary I have been one of her biggest supporrters. I am more impressed with her than I am him. Read my post more closely.

I can see how her fans might think I was putting her down,so maybe I should have had a different choice of words. But it was said in jest and it was true. Also my comments were based on the picture I used. Let's not pretend Michelle Obama is some Halle Berry or Beyonce. Let's keep it real.

  3. I am still kicking Common...just not high :)

I have several blogs I read on a regular and yours is one…I have gotten away from commenting on a regular, but if I have something to say…you know I will.

Reading your description of First Lady Obama appearance stung, this was the second time you did it. That is why I asked you why you dislike her. It is nice to know you have some love for her :)

I am not an overzealous big fan of hers; I do respect her and believe she is a positive role model for young black girls. Hell, for that matter she is a positive role model for women period.

I know she do not have the looks of Halle Berry or Beyonce, yet she is a beautiful black women. To be perfectly honest it hurt my feelings seeing you write negative about her looks. I expect that from the likes of Limbaugh and his followers, I did not expect that from you, regardless if some people think that about her.

Nonetheless, keep doing your thing on your blog...as you informed someone on one of your post. People do read your blog; the number of comments on a post does not mean a blog is not being read :)

    Until next time,
    Blinders

  4. I got confirmation on my post yesterday. This very subject came up without me even saying a word.

I can understand why a lot of black women might take issue with what I said. If it wasn't for weave, relaxer and "Fashion Fair" cosmetics. I would be talking about them.

Don't get me wromg. Nothing is wrong with a sister enhancing herself, but that doesn't erase the original. No matter where you go there you are.

I can say these things with no backlash because I'm a obscure brother writing on his blog. If Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh said it on their shows seen and heard by millions. It would be disrespectful.

  5. Common:
You are not an obscured brother when millions can read your opinions. Black women are not the only women who enhance their looks. You say Sarah Palin is pretty, but I wonder if you would say that if you saw her without foundation on her face.

Foundation destroys a woman’s natural beauty and skin. I want you to notice something about women who wear foundation and one way you can fact check what I am saying look at celebrities when they have it on and when they have it off. You can also look at the women you know personally, you will see how different they look when they are wearing foundation and when they are not.

Finally, inner beauty within shines outward and that is what I see in Michelle Obama.
