Not Really Surprised

The verdict finally came back in the Duanna Johnson beating case. I refer to it as her case even though she wasn't actually on trial. She was killed in November of 2008 in an unsolved shooting. This case was to determine whether Officer Bridges McCrae was guilty of violating her civil rights when he clocked her with a pair of handcuffs.

This case had the makings of being controversial from the start. The officer was white, and the victim was black. Which normally is enough to cause it in itself. Not to mention the fact that Duanna's birth name was really Dewayne. These are just my feelings. Officer McCrae was fired from his job and The officer no doubt was excessive but Duanna didn't help matters any. The fact that it ended in a mistrial. I was not really surprised.
