Dead Horse

I asked this same question on this blog seven years ago. Are there such things as ghosts and are we being plagued by them? I was disappointed in the position my City Councilman Lee Harris took regarding the park issue. He suggested temporarily renaming the parks. He has designated this as the low point of his career on the council. Personally, I think it was when he proposed Gay rights legislation be added to the city charter. From that point on his fate was sealed. He can't speak out against anything. His vote is compromised.

I think the former mayor was right about this. The right to protest is one given by the constitution. Why didn't Janis Fullilove get overcome with  emotion when Mayor Herenton provided the KKK police protection? It wasn't politically expedient then.   She didn't want to challenge the "tall glass of water" as she calls him. Suddenly her and Wendi C. Thomas are in agreement. This is just another Red Herring issue the race baiters bring up from time to time. To keep the pot hot and bubbling. Most of these people protesting the name of the park. Have never even been there.

I  think the council is playing the old bait and switch again. I haven't heard what Kemp Conrad has to say. He is being unusally quiet. He already knows how this is going to turn out. While the citizens are focused on a trivial matter such as this. They're approving a hidden tax or funding projects for special interest groups.  I think this is just like the plight of the sanitation  workers. "The truth can't be known until the lie is revealed". The workers short sightedness in the past didn't prepare for the future. The more you talk  about it . The more educated the citizens become. After so long a dead horse starts to smell.
