Out Of Reach

I don't really think any of these women were originally goldiggers. Not in the way some of them are now. They were with these men before they got rich. Monica Joseph-Taylor and Funkmaster Flex, Tashera Simmons and DMX and Liza Morales and Lamar Odom were all childhood sweethearts.  They got with these guys and even had children before they even started out in their respective fields. All except for Josie Davis. These couples grew up together. Her man practically raised her. She met Floyd Mayweather when she was sixteen. She has made her lifes calling having children for him. She and Liza Morales have both had three children by their longtime boyfriends. But neither one of them unfortunately has gotten a ring.

The only white woman on the show. Cheryl Caruso lost her husband Phil Caruso to prison. But I think she'll be alright though. She hasn't crossed that color line yet. At least not on the show. Look at what happened to Kim Zolchiak. Something about white women who hang with black women, but don''t like black men. Goes a long way with white men. She already knows how to be a hustler's wife. That makes her more exciting to a square.

Prison is where Zakia Baum got Maino from. His come-up was her. Something tells me he is a hustler. Plus he seems to have a way with women. He met a woman who could offer him more than Zakia,. Then he left her. She just gambled and she loss. Shaniqua Tompkins had a child by Fifty Cent before he was famous. She is beginning to envision life after Fifty stops paying child support. Though he never really included her in his new life. Except for Floyd Mayweather, he is by far the biggest celebrity with the most money being highlighted on this show . He shut his baby's mother down before she even taped an episode. I expect Josie Davis to be silenced next.

All these women have one thing in common. Their best years are behind them. Once you have two or three babies by a man. You have given your best to him already. To avoid  the backlash from their children. If their father stays around until they're ten and eleven years old. I know it seems unfair to the mothers. But really they need to wait until their children are grown before they bring another man into the house. Married or not. Contrary to what most people think. Money doesn't always make it right. Look at Shaunie Oneal and her two oldest boys.  Her new man doesn't meet their approval. That's just the beginning though. She and Shaq have three more.  Imagine the child support her and Josie Davis are getting. But look at their personal lives. They will never meet men that give them new identities until it doesn't matter anymore. Juanita Leonard is one in two million. She hit the lottery twice.

When it comes to explotation. I can't believe it's because the executive producers only choose to highlight black relationships. I just think as a general rule white men with money don't avoid their responsibility. It's usually an issue of paternity with them. I have always said "there should be a special place in hell for women who lie about their children's father". Equally as important though. "Black men shouldn't be keeping score with black women". Take care of your responsibilities.  The Bible makes it clear in Proverbs 13:22 "A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just".

If a man is simply trying to upgrade to what looks like a five star chick.  It's not his baby's mama's fault. If you've been dating someone for ten years and have three children and he still hasn't married them. She's probably not  the one they want. Once these men become successful. It's unfair to expect these women to leave them. It's like going from a Cadillac to a Kia. Unlike the Hollywood Exes, who are capable of picking up and moving on. What rich rapper or athlete is Tashera Simmons going to meet?  Even Andrea Kelly is having a hard time adjusting. She has bank and booty both. Poor Tashera has neither. These are average women put out of reach of average men.

  1. Tashera Simmons is the only one I really feel sorry for. Her husband changed on her over night.

  3. TLC's Starter Wives Confidential series was finished before it got really started. The show which featured the ex-girlfriends and baby mommas of artists and athletes like 50 Cent, DMX, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Lamar Odom was cancelled after just two episodes. 50 Cent claimed he had a hand in its demise, but the network says otherwise.

You'll recall, the reality show was cancelled a few days after its Jan. 29 debut. Many believed it was due to a slew of problems plaguing the show -- including 50 Cent's outspoken dislike of his ex's participation.

Even one of the stars, Monica Joseph-Taylor (Flex's ex) was confused by the sudden purge, writing on her blog, "Is it ratings? Is it a change in network direction…or all the outside drama?!"

TMZ obtained a letter -- written from the network to the cast members -- which sets the record straight.

The letter states, "Unfortunately, due to the low ratings, the remaining episodes will not air on TLC, but will be viewable on TLC.com."

It continues, "The decision by TLC isn't personal, although I know it is to you all, and for that we are very sorry. You ladies gave your all to the show and everyone at TLC is very disappointed that the viewers didn't take this ride with us."

Never one to pass on an opportunity to talk ish, and promote his headphones, 50 Cent took to Twitter to claim that it was his influence that got the show canned. "I want to apologize to cast of Starter Wives for having the show pulled off the net work.i sincerely hope you find work.#smsaudio," tweeted the "In Da Club" rapper on Monday, Feb. 18. "The show was trash, angry ex girls that have a sense of entitlement that cant be met. Come on, I didn't like it so its off. #SMSaudio."

50 Cent's lawyer had previously sent a cease & desist to TLC informing the network that cast member Shanequa Tompkins was legally not able to participate as soon as heard the series was filming. Tompkins was only seen in the premiere episode, briefly explaining why she wouldn't be participating.

Starter Wives Confidential debuted January 29 and as of this post there are three full episodes online right here.
