Equity

I watched the Memphis Grizzlies and the Atlanta Hawks play. Memphis won (108-101) but I still wasn't impressed. It's like they just beat another struggling team. This year sometimes looking at the NBA is like watching the University of Memphis. Not always a game they played well either.I don't think the Grizzlies have played a team this year not riddled with injuries. Especially one where they were a winner. I know no team has come to  the Fed Ex Forum at 100 % efficiency.Who wants to see the Golden State Warriors without Stephen Curry?

I hate it for the players but not so much the  team. Mike  Conley is having a breakout year and Zach Randolph is in the twilight of his career. I'm still not convinced about Marc Gasol by himself. Even  though he was selected defensive player of the year. I think that was political. They had to have a white player on the leagues blue collar team. James Johnson adds excitement, but you can't win a  title with him. He is a super-sized Tony Allen. Him without Hollins hasn't had the desired effect. The rest of them are role players who last in the league because they know all the plays

Management is backing down from it's earlier stance. They realize you can;t be competitive paying players $1 million a year.  The latest signer Courtney Lee is being paid $5 million a year. He was the cheapest shooter available. And they just got the money to pay him.  Time the new owners bought the team. They cut the payroll $20 million and the salary cap is only $58 million. I expect another unexpected trade when the season is over. The team still has some equity.
