The big winner in this years Oscars is Lupita Nyong'o. Even though she only had a supporting role in the movie of the year 12 Years A Slave.  She wasn't the first to reach any theatrical milestones or even break any box office records. But she went against the proverbial grain with her looks. The last black actress to win an Oscar and gain this much attentions was Halle Berry. We've never had a screen star that looks like Lupita. This is a change.

Don't  expect a flood of dark-skinned women with short hair to become the latest craze. Hair weave, lace fronts and make-up are like a second skin to many of them. K. Michelle and Tamar Braxton wouldn't be photographed or caught in public without them. When I think back. I never seen Nicky Minaj without her hair and makeup-up either. Lupita has  flawless skin and beautiful teeth. She is almost black as  oil so she looks good in all colors. They played it down in the movie. But she stood out even then. I can see this actress in other roles. This lady is unique.
