Ophelia Ford Ousted 26-6

After eleven long months. Eight Democratic State Senators, finally decided along with eighteen Republicans. To void the May special election, which Ms. Ford won by 13 contested votes. All of which were, voided except for one. So much for the one man, one vote theory. If there was only one vote left to her advantage. That would've declared her a winner. She has continuously cried racism, from the very beginning. Now she may finally have a legitimate claim. Since she was accusing them of it anyway, they probably figured why not? Based on the final vote, there was no party loyalty present.

This late in the game. Whatever happens is more symbolic than anything. The election is up again in May. Only one month away. Ms. Fords closing remarks were "I will be back in January". I think she was right about that, I think she will. Terry Roland has missed his opportunity to capitalize, on the apathy of the voters. When all else fails, play the race card. Which she did from the start. Though it didn't serve her in the end, among the legislature. It has always been a winner with those particular voters. I think this issue gave Ms. Ford all the fire she needs, for the upcoming election.

How West Tennessee Democratic senators voted:

For voiding the election:

Sens. Roy Herron, D-Dresden, Doug Jackson, D-Dickson, Jim Kyle, D-Memphis, Don McLeary, R-Humboldt, Mark Norris, R-Collierville, Curtis Person, R-Memphis.

Against voiding the election:
Sens. Kathryn Bowers, D-Memphis, Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, Ophelia Ford, D-Memphis.

Not voting:
Speaker John Wilder, D-Somerville.

Face it! Tennesse is a RACIST state. Ophelia will prevail. She will be back in office next year.

  2. Bishop,

Anything they do now is after the fact. It's time to vote again. She will be voted back into office hands down. Steve Cohen is grandstanding, but I can't say I blame him.

I don't think this is a race issue, but she will be reelected.

    Quote -- Unquote

Sen. Ophelia Ford on the Senate floor, after the vote to void her election:

To the Speaker of the House (sic), all the members of the Senate, I would be remiss if I didn't get up to say something here. First I want to say what an honor and privilege it has been for me to serve here in the 104th General Assembly. I just thank and praise God that He chose me to do this. It's no coincidence that this has happened today and I'm not surprised about it, though we will be back in court tomorrow and you might see me as early as next week.

But I will definitely be back here come January. It's been difficult for me to receive my Republican colleagues to be so very hard and not really be fair in the process -- and then my Democratic colleagues that went along with it too. I just had to say that today. But you have to do things in a fair manner and everyone in that election should have been contacted instead of some that got pulled off a computer.

But anyway I praise the Lord that He's given me this opportunity and I definitely have enjoyed it, but I never started to have fun because there were always so many problems going on with me. I want to thank the clerk of the House (sic) and all the staff and my staff and everyone who has been helpful to me in learning the Senate.

And I just want to say thank God for giving me such a wonderful opportunity and I wanted each and every one of you to know that -- that I will be back.

With your approval, I will dismiss myself right now.

Ms. O-Failure Ford is a crook just like the rest of the Ford clan. O-Failure Ford looks like a worn out crackhead. They all need to burn in hell.

  6. Anti-T,
Now you may be right. After her repeated charges, it has no choice.

  7. The Man,

Let's take a look at this. Other than the fact she is a Ford. What do you have against her? She hasn't had a chance, to not serve her constituents. She hasn't been convicted of anything. We don't even know anything bad, about her past. I didn't support her because, I think she wasn't qualified. The voters didn't agree with my opinion. She was elected by the people. We should give her a chance.

  8. Bishop,

It is now, but that works to Ms. Fords advantage.

Stop taking up for Ms. O-Failure. She is worthless. Just like the rest of her clan.

Common, you are starting to make a little sense...you didn't vote for her because SHE ISN'T QUALIFIED. People voted for her becuase of her last name.

He must have had to hock his computer. To come up with the money to stay out of jail.

    Common,
why do you call yourself Common? What is the logic behind this name? Common?? It sure doesn't stand for common sense because you are lacking that.

  13. The Boy,

Why do you call yourself the man. Now that's the question. You act like a untrained little boy. Have you noticed, no one is asking questions about your name. They just call you something else. Actually unknowingly you're telling the truth. I don't have common sense. I have uncommon sense. Something that's well out of your reach. You are beyond a doubt, the dumbest person posting on here. What makes it worse is you don't know it yet.
