Too bad the excerpt shown here has nothing of substance behind it. I have read a few excerpts from his book that contain his actual "arguments", and trust me, they are FAR from compelling.

Jackson's "arguments" are nothing more than sound-bites, and do not delve enough into any of the topics for the reader to find out what the truth really is.

For example, he claims the Democrats are the party of the rich, and he uses the top 10 campaign contributors in the 2002 election as his "proof". First of all, that would belike looking at one of those ads for wireless internet being advertised at $9.95 a month and concluding that it is cheaper than a competitive service. To do a fair comparison, one would have to realize that this is only an introductory offer, and therefore not a sufficeint sample with which to make an overall conclusion. This is EXACTLY what he has done in his argument. What he said may have been interesting, but the sample size was way too small to come to a reasonable conclusion. You cannot extrapolate the entire population only from the top ten donors. Obvously he has never studied statistics! Not only that, but there could be other underlying factors that could influence contributions at a particular point in time. For example, he took his figures from 2002, which happened to be a year the Democrats were out of power. Certainly, a political party that is out of power is more financially motivated to get back into power. That's just human nature, which I guess he really doesn't understand either.

In other words, if you want the TRUTH, you need to do an in-depth analysis of the issue at hand. Relying on quick sound-bytes is no way to claim a monopoly on truth.

I haven't read his book, but you make an interesting point. I must say from what I've read in this satire. Most of his comebacks are as valid as the comments on which they are based. What you have described here is what Liberals do all the time. Take a morsel of information and make of it what they want.I can't argue the validity of his research. But if I do like the Liberals do the Conservatives. I can't dispel it's relevance either.
