President Delivers 2007 "State Of The Union"

I missed the " 2007 State Of The Union Address" last night. Through the marvel of the internet I heard it today. The video portion was down due to technical difficulties, but the audio was very clear.I think this might be the best way for some people to hear the speech anyway. In order to really hear what the President said as opposed to what they wanted to hear. In listening to people talk who did see the telecast last night. They seemed to be more occupied with the facial expressions and the behavior of those in attendance. Than they did the content of the speech. Not surprisingly though according to the naysayers. All those there in support of the President and his positions. Were labeled either brainwashed or sellouts. How silly and uninformed does that sound? To estrange the only people who have the ability to change your situation. A little something to ponder..."I have never heard those who know him personally complaining about anything". I think he did a good job myself. Some would consider me biased though.

I think it was just more of what he's said all the time. An appropriate name for this speech would've been "I told you so". As a man I can appreciate another man standing his ground even when it's unpopular. Were it left to Nancy Pelosi and the female mentality of many Americans. The President would be giving a concession speech right now. In spite of what the polls and people around him say he stands by his decision without waver. Obviously there are those who hold that against him unfortunately. They don't share my views that:
James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Click on the link below and listen to the speech and decide for yourself.

No, I do not share your view on this post, but it is your right to speak your opinion.

Religion believes should not be the guidance of political decisions “Separation of Church and State”.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_church_and_state

In this case, it is pure stubbornness on President Bush behalf not to waiver. This country is worst off since he became Commander and Chief.

His legacy is getting us involved in a war based on lies and his ideology that is widening the gap of the rich and poor while depleting the middle class that is the backbone of this country.

I respect your opinion, but with all due respect I disagree. I didn't expect you to concur about the speech. You don't like the President no matter what he says. Your political decisions should be influenced by your religious beliefs. Don't believe the hype that's just a liberal misconception. "Separation of church and state" only means I can't force my beliefs on anybody else.

I am glad he doesn't flip flop. If he did we would probably be fighting on American streets. Terrorist acts would be just like gang activity in our communities. It would be just a daily occurence. What are you basing your assumptions on? The economy is up and the present tax cuts help. They do more to help the middle class. Than anything else that the Democrats have proposed.

We are in a war because we were attacked on 9/11 by terrorist. The middle class is disappearing not because of anything this administration has done. But because of a global economy.

Bishop,

You are very broad in your accusations. I would ask you for some specifics but I know you don't have any. The Med is the responsibility of the state not federal government . Insurance accounts would allow you to go to the hopital anywhere you want. Those Republicans going against the President are what's called RINOs. Republicans in name only. They're just trying to get reelected. The only thing they're talking about is the war. Who doesn't wish we weren't there? That's a weak position.

I also respect your opinion and thanks for respecting mine.

You are right I do not like our Commander and Chief, President Bush. You are also right that we will never agree when it comes to President Bush. You asked me what I base my assumptions on and I am going to give you the main two of my reasoning of not liking this President. I am also positive out of the 67% of Americans who disapprove of his job performance agree with my two:

1. You claim it is the global economy that is affecting the middle class...that is true not only for the middle class, but for the poor also. You praise your president for the economy being up because of his tax cuts. Nope, his tax cuts HURT the middle class. The alternative minimum tax, or AMT, is a separate income-tax system originally designed to prevent extremely wealthy people from exploiting loopholes in the tax code to significantly reduce the amount they have to pay. The problem: The income levels that trigger the AMT are not indexed for inflation, so more middle-class American are having to pay it.

2. Terrorist acts have been happening in our country before 9/11 many of them from Americans, i.e., abortion clinic bombings and Timothy McVeigh blowing up the federal building in Oklahoma. Therefore, being over in Iraq is NOT going to keep the terrorist from fighting on American streets. It is definitely more than likely Al-Qaeda, Jihads, and other Muslim extremist will be fighting on our streets because we went into Iraq unprovoked. The WORLD was against that move by your President and he basically told them to go to hell as Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez and Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are now telling us. If your president meant what he said when we ALL felt what happened on 9/11 our men and women would have had a troop surge in Afghanistan, we were already over there before 9/11 and that is where we should have went after 9/11.

You stated to me “Don’t believe the hype that’s just a liberal misconception”. No Sir, that is not just a liberal misconception the last election proved that. It is this American reality.

Bishop,

Please explain to me. I agree it doesn't help the Med, but it was a sinking ship anyway. It just means they won't be getting any of the $16 million they are owed annually anyway.

Blinders, Blinders, Blinders

I don't know what to say. It's like putting water in a bucket with a hole. Why are you always predicting doom? Do you everb think of what it would belike to be anywhere else but America?

When is the last time you went to Walmart if you didn't go this weekend? Don't worry about the wealthy, worry about yourself. The middle class have always paid the taxes they're the ones working. With all these people getting three and four thousand dollar income tax checks, somebody is benefitting.

As far as the war that's a moot issue as far as most people go. No matter what you tell them they don't see what's happening. Come back later I'm going to post something on that.I want you to respond.

The jury is still out on this past election. They haven't accomplished anything yet. They've only complained about everything the President has done. What's going on with the minimum wage?

Hmm, LMAO on your “It’s like putting water in a bucket with a hole”. Good thing I do not take it personally, life is to short for that. You know I been called, “big head” before, but never was my head considered having a hole, my brain may have lesions on it...thank god I still have cognition and a sense of humor.

Now, you are trying my patients with the Wal-Mart reference, I do not patronize Wal-Mart because of their business practice. How am I predicting doom the cloud of doom happened in November 2000 and then again in 2004?

We understand how the each other feels about the war; therefore, it is a moot issue. I believe I know what you are going to talk about on that and I will save my response for the post. Will you be mentioning Iran, Syria, and other surrounding Muslim countries in the upcoming post?

You are right they have not accomplished anything yet; but there ARE checks and balances now. NO one party should have total control in all three branches of government...with a cherry on top (Supreme Court).

I know you know what is going on with the minimum wage. You protest it on one of your post. I hope that the 28 Republican Senators who want to repeal the minimum wage for Americans lose their next election when its time to apply again... this is another topic we strongly disagree. Now leave my bucket out of this and I will not stoop down and say something about your bucket. Lol

Finally, there is no better place to live than AMERICA.

Blinders Off,

You know I love you, and I'm glad you don't take my comments personal. It's not just you, I say that about all liberals. You are one of the smartest ones I know. But you still don't see the whole picture.

I'm sorry about the WalMart comment. Usually that claim is 90% effective. I say you're predicting doom because the fact of the matter is. In spite of all these charges against the President. Nothing has gone south in the six years he's been in office.

I brought up the minimum wage because that's just the biggest promise they've not fulfilled to Blacks.
