Halt Means Stop

I've had an opinion about this incident for a while now. Some time I keep my comments to myself out of respect for the grieving family. This case was displaced so quickly this time. My comments might sound like they're after the fact. The red flag automatically goes up when certain local problem profiteers get involved. They tend to beat the drums of injustice prematurely. It gives them something to rant and rave about. The question I had when this first came up is what was he doing walking on Tchulohoma and Democrat at 1:30 A.M. in the morning? I know it's not against the law to walk down the public streets. Some things require an explanation though.

This scenario is getting a little old and predictable. "Unarmed man under suspicion, while resisting arrest is killed by police. First we had Deaunta Farrow, and then Timothy Jones. Now we have Reginald Pointer. None of these young men deserved to die, but they weren't totally innocent either. My heart goes out to these mothers, but they might bare some of the blame. Listening to them talk now. Makes you wonder what they taught their sons. The main thing these three mothers have in common is their sons are dead. In all these cases it would have served these young men to remember one thing. When dealing with the police. Halt means stop.

Thus is doing his conspiracy theories again. For the life of me I dont see how he can be such an idiot. He has no idea what the autopsy report said, does not wait for the investigation findings and acts as if was there at the scene.

Did you also here, his repo truck will be getting reo'd if they can find it. Just another item he has stolen and failed to pay for.

  2. The one I feel sorry for is these gullible mothers. I think they are looking for help in the wrong place. When it's over and done with. The only thing they have is some pictures on the Internet and an unpaid funeral bill.

  3. Brian,

I didn't know about the repo truck. I wondered why he had suddenly retired from such a lucrative business. I thought it was the hours he was spending on the radio. How ironic is that? A repo truck being repoed.

I heard about it on MPD Enforcer, of course he probably has it hidden so they can' take it.

It appears he and Javier B. are in the buisness of suing the city. I wonder if bailey will cut him in if he ever wins a case.

    Common:

I've asked myself the same questions you have about this case. My mother says that Thaddeus is trying to be the Black Nancy Grace. IMHO, I think he's more like the Black Jerry Springer -- a paid instigator.

    Brian:

I read MPD's blog earlier, too. Thaddeus is always bragging about all this money he has, but I've never seen any evidence of him earning it via his repo business. I know someone else is financing the show on KWAM. In fact, I was wondering how he could be at City Hall all day, do a radio show in the afternoon, and maintain a repo business.

Now Thaddeus claims he's going to expose MPD's identity as revenge for exposing him, so get the popcorn ready...

He has been getting more advertisers for his show and I guess Toni Greene is paying him to be her manager....

Of course some of the money he has raised for recent the victims of fire and killings have gone into his own pocket. He acts as if he is doing a noble thing by donating his time but yet he steals from the people he is supposedly helping or so it has been said.

Whatever cash he does get he cant put into the bank since then it can be frozen for the debts that he owes. He steers eveyone to Javier Bailey so I'm sure if Bailey could ever get a settlement he's paying off the fat one

More like pimping Toni Green. Thaddeus will go anywhere he can make a buck. Ever since he stirred up that nonsense this summer between Toni and WDIA, Toni has no one else to go to. What she doesn't realize is that most people outside of Memphis don't even know who she is, let alone play her music.

And don't forget he endorsed Herenton after he gave him that cash to shut him up -- I mean advertise on his blog.

  8. If Javier ever wins one of cases he's pushing that's when they'll fall out.

  9. House singers in Memphis haven't caught on yet. This isn't Las Vegas or New Orleans. Look at how they did Ruby Wilson. She was the original Queen of Beale. Now she hardly even performs. Toni Greene made a career move but she didn't think it through. To be big in the Memphis blues market she needs WDIA. She made her move too soon.

I don't disagree with the Mayor on a lot of things but I adamantly disagreed with his advertising with Thaddeus. Just like I thought it would, it has come back to haunt him.Thaddeus and Randall Catron were hoping the Mayor would help them with John Elkington. Being realistic and putting that aside. The Mayor has a million dollar campaign chest. Why not spend a couple of thousand dollars to advertise on the radio and a popular web site. Which would have his name ring among that crowd. In spite of what some people think. I think all publicity is not good publicity.

Herenton knew what he was doing. He knows that Thaddeus can be bought by the highest bidder, so he made the investment to shut him up until after the election. I really can't blame him for that. Also, I doubt very seriously that Herenton expected Thaddeus to be an ally for life...

Toni DOES need WDIA, but she hasn't tried to get her records played in other markets that support her genre of music (i.e. Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans, St. Louis, etc.). She's going to get screwed fooling with Thaddeus.

As for Bailey -- I agree with you Common -- the fallout is forthcoming. Just ask Jennings Bernard and Randall Catron!

Since when is it against the law to walk down the street?

It's not against the law but police officers dont have to wait for a crime to be comitted before they act on suspicious behavior.

It's called probably cause, if they observe someone at 2 in the morning walking around parked cars and acting suspicious they can act on that.

They did and he took off running, now they realyl have cause to inestigate him further.

I'm not saying his killing was justified becasue I wasn't there to witness what happened. Wait for the investigation and Coroners report to come out and then see what they reveal.

    I totally agree

I heard the funeral service was standing room only.
