Neither One

 

Whenever I see Jermaine Dupri, I can't help but remember something I heard an old player once say. "A sucker is still a sucker even when he has the bag". When everybody you deal with walks away with as much or more than you.  That indicates there is a problem. Either you're a spendthrift with money or the people around you are using you. It could be a little of both. But I think in Jermaine Dupri's case it's mostly the latter. All his former main squeezes have more money these days than him. But they have no sense of allegiance to him.

The first woman he invested in turned out to be an open homosexual and a convict to boot. Da Brat could actually rap and she was cute. She could have been a big hit in Atlanta even until now. But she should have kept people guessing about what she liked. She came out before it was cool.  Plus I think people wanted to see her feminine side. Where was her older sister Lisa Raye's influence then?  Even though she is the picture of a goldigger. That would have been a better look. Since Da Brat was never known to be Jermaine's girlfriend.  That really didn't count against him. It also didn't help his image either. He was known for making it rain in the strip clubs. What's the odds of hanging out with a woman whose tab was as big as his?

That was the direction of things to come. The group "Xscape" broke up over the favoritism Jermaine Dupri was showing Kandi Burrus. The two were dating at the time. Though she seems to be generous to a fault with everybody else.  That doesn't seem to extend to Jermaine Dupri though. I don't know what happened between them. But it's still festering twenty years later.  She claims her issues are with members of the group. There were only four of them and two of those are sisters. Her and Tiny are the best of friends. So who is she talking about? With the juice her and Tiny have in Atlanta they could do something to help J.D out. How can they not show up for the SoSo Def reunion? It's their music alma mater. Most people would want to go and show off their success. There is something they don't want the people to know I bet.

For the last eight years Jermaine Dupri has had one of the most high profile girlfriends on the planet. Him and Janet Jackson have been an item. Not only did she get engaged shortly after they split. The only mans' career she has helped lately is Justin Timberlake. He got bigger while Jermaine was going broke. While her and Jermaine were together, they only spent his money. You never heard of Janet buying Jermaine anything. Look at Jay Z, T.I. and Wiz Khalifa. They all used their lady's popularity to their advantage. We've seen Beyonce every way but naked. But the only man's hand we ever seen on her was Jay. Nobody wants to see Tiny naked, but apparently many already have. T.I. wants to keep it quiet. So he created a show of his own. Wiz Khalifa made a come up with Amber  Rose . He beat out big money Kanye West.  All of them are a player a boss or both.  It seems Jermaine Dupri is neither one.
