Tough Talk, But True

Michael Richard's comments may have exploded in his face. In hindsight, I'm sure he wish he had it to do over. They weren't totally off base though. To the contrary, they were unfortunately true. Fifty years ago it would have been a different story. That's why I always try and remind Blacks, of the advances in race relations. It wasn't very long ago. We were being slapped and kicked. We were attacked by police dogs, and sprayed with fire hoses. I remember pictures of sheriff "Bull Connors" vividly. Having this happen didn't make you a coward. Just a victim of the times. It was a normal occurrence, in some places. Thank God, these opinions don't represent the majority. I don't know how old Richard's is, but depending on how he looks. I think it's safe to say. Michael Richards came up during a time. When and where this could very well, have been the norm. I wonder how many people talk this way, behind closed doors?

As I watched the video. One thing came to mind. Contrary to what some people think. All White people aren't intimidated by Blacks. Some of them are just as ignorant. As they accuse Blacks of being. Of course I'm talking about the racist ones. Go to the link below and read the full fallout: http://www.tmz.com/2006/11/20/kramers-racist-tirade-caught-on-tape/

  2. Kramer’s (the name he is best known for)remarks to the heckler were DEAD wrong his reaction was racist. If that were Martin Lawrence, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor it would have been acceptable and not have received the media fanfare. Personally, I never liked their N-word jokes.

Unfortunately, for Kramer, he was not in his comedic prime that night, lost control, and overstepped in public. His struggling career is probably over.

After seeing his interview on David Letterman, he seemed sincere with his apology. Is he a racist?
I do not know, but his comment was definitely racist. Privately many people have said a racist joke or reference someone in a racist manner in anger, do that make them a racist.

Kramer admitted publicly he have to look deep inside himself to understand WHY he exploded in a racist manner. That is enough for me and should be enough for others, unless they just want to escalate the prejudice in our society.

Cordova, you are correct he did shoot himself in the foot.

I don't think this is the end of his career. A whole lot of people see things the same way he does.

    Here are a few jokes:

Why don't colored folks celebrate Thanksgiving?
    Because KFC is closed.

Why was Michael Jackson hanging around K-Mart?
Because he heard boys pants were half off.

What does Michael Jackson consider to be a perfect 10?
    Two 5 year old boys.

Why did Michael Jackson phone Boyz-2-men?
He thought it was a delivery service.

Why don't spics and colored folks play hide and seek?
Because no one will look for them.

Why didn't they let Gail Carson and Kat Bowers play in the sand box?
Because cats kept covering them up thinking they were something else.
