Look It Up For Yourself

The silver fox has done it again. As I predicted this is where he would shine. National security is John McCain's strong suit and he proved it last night. To make sure I didn't miss anything important. I almost watched the whole thing twice. It was like watching a college level team play against the pros. The college team might be good enough to win a game. But the pros are still on another level. They got where they are now, based on excelling when they were in school. Barack Obama has a bright future in politics, but he isn't ready to be President yet.
After the debate political analysts and pondents were getting paid to pick out one key or memorable sound byte made by either of the candidates. Barack Obama asked the moderator to " move it along," when he was obviously at a loss for words. Nobody talked about that, or that Bin Laden hadn't been "kilt." The one comment that stuck in my mind was made by Senator McCain. "It's hard to reach across the isle from that far on the left." As the campaign goes on Barack is drifting closer and closer to the middle. Though it's not reflected in his voting record. In a debate he can't structure his answers to suit the crowd. Nothing beats an idea but an experience. That's what makes these two fundamentally different. One campaign is built on promises. The other admonishes you to look at their record. If you want to know how you should vote. Look it up for yourself.

The weekend went relatively debate discussion free. Mainly because Obama supporters didn't have anything to brag about. If anything they were disappointed. His performance was dismal at best. It sure wasn't the fireball confrontation they expected.

Even during the debate Barack Obama conceded on a lot of his earlier positions. He admitted at least eight times that John McCain was right. Not once did I hear McCain reciprocate.

I don't know what the next debate is about. They are supposed to have a theme or a primary subject. This was about "National Security" and John McCain was clearly the better candidate.

After reading that commentary, I think everyone is a bit speechless.
