I don't have the heart or desire to remind University of Memphis fans that it was just a matter of time before we fell off that tightrope we've been on lately. They played a good game with plenty of heart against Arizona, but they did well to go as far as they did. Like I always said they wouldn't rise any higher than Will Coleman. He showed glimmers of greatness but nothing consistent.  Him and the team both had their up and down moments. They could have won this game if they had hit their free throws. If they don't get it together next year. Even though the team only has one senior.The circle as we now know it might be broken

Sign Of Defeat

I don't think we've seen the last of Kenneth Whalum. He'll pop up somewhere else. I expect to see him on the new county school board. This latest move is instigated by a blow to his ego. He has a substantial band of loyal followers but not enough to run the city. His resignation amounts to a tantrum because the vote doesn't seem to be going his way. Is this a sign of defeat?

D.C. Will Be Her Legacy

I bet Kenny Bozak could have swallowed a baseball when Michelle Rhee all but endorsed the MCS/SCS school merger. I was all prepared to give my reasons why she is no Fairy weilding a magic wand ready to solve all our educatiun problems. Then she surprised me with her straightforward and realistic views.

I don't think we'll see her as superintendant of any public school system in the near future. She is making too mch money as a speaker these days. She slipped into town to appear at  one paid engagement and ended up booking another on the evening news. No system in the country could afford her right now. She is like  the Sarah Palin of education, She can make more money talking about what others shoud do as opposed to trying to  repeat her past succeess. Her accomplishments in D.C. will be her legacy.
