Vigil For Taffi Crawford

It appears that some people aren't just going to let this end with a funeral. This crime has taken on being the face of domestic violence. I would be willing to bet he already has some offers on the table. He said it was time for him to "contribute to society in another way," either by creating jobs with a business, leading a college or university, or running a charity.

Not A Good Look

I don't know all the factors surrounding Pierre Henderson Niles leaving the University of Memphis basketball team. I hope nothing has happened that would force him to quit,but hopefully he didn't just up and quit on his own either. After the patience the program has shown him. He shouldn't abandon them in their time of need. Even though he doesn't make a huge contribution it filled a hole. It's now needed more than ever. If he did just abruptly quit, it's not a good look.

Timing Is Off Again

If he wants to be seen as bold and on the edge. Once again Harold Ford Jr. is too late with his groundbreaking revelation of feeling the need for complete disclosure. He drags his feet when it comes to telling the whole story. He let another famous politician reveal his mixed heritage before he came out with the news about his grandmother being white. That politician went on to be elected POTUS. Now he wants to see how the public feels about his interracial marriage. Since he didn't get married until after he left office in Tennessee. He should have kept his feelings about the south and it's acceptance of interracial marriage to himself. I was one of the few in his former district who had even noticed that he was married to a white woman. Who is he trying to impress? His timing is off again.

It's Not Personal, It's Politics

I was disheartened because my choice for Congressman of the 9th Congressional district has made some uncharacteristic moves in my opinion. Then before I could retract my support and express my displeasure with his actions. Someone else who I generally like,joined the fray in an attempt to market their wares to the captive crowd. In that very moment I was faced with making a decision about two politicians who I had previously supported. Then a lesson in numbers becamme painfully clear. They need votes not voices of reason. My wife gave me an explanation that provided me with some comfort. She said "It's not personal, it's politics."
