Crush On Barack Obama

This video reeks of the same thing that happened to Harold Ford Jr. ("call me Harold"), in his race against Bob Corker for Tennessee Senator. The OBama camp has denied any involvement and tried to distance themselves, and I believe them. Click on the video below to see what's causing all the commotion.

Trap Or Trump

If Mayor Willie Herenton never tells the truth again he told it earlier in at least one of his comments today. When he said "the God I serve watches over me". To some that was just considered as a ploy to ignite the public emotions. The next thing that came to my mind was "Acts 2:35 :Until I make thy foes thy footstool". Which is exactly what has happened here. Instead of this being a reflection on the Mayor's character. He is coming off as the unsuspecting victim here. I don't believe he concocted this story, but I think he's going to get the most mileage out of it's disclosure. What might have been meant to hurt him, has turned out for his good.

The other known piece of this puzzle is Herenton's former friend and attorney Richard Fields. I don't think he was part of a plot to oust the Mayor. I think he got played to a degree by Ms. Smith. He is just the means to justify the end result. His biggest mistake is being attracted to Black women with questionable character. No reflection on all Black women, just those he seems to fancy. All of them turn out to be in trouble with the law, either pending or in the past. I think he's using his position to gain the favors of women. He has had girlfriends after the breakup, to even break into his house. Every time he ends one of these relationships there's always drama. Another bible verse that would apply to him: Galatians 6:7: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. His actions in the past are coming back to haunt him. What you do in the dark comes to the light.

Then there's Gwendolyn Smith; the felony convicted paperhanger, college senior, single mother and cocktail waitress. Also it turns out she is a fugitive from justice. There is an outstanding warrant for her arrest in Davidson county. She could be telling the truth, but I doubt she is this time. She sounds like a jilted lover if you want to know my opinion. As long as Richard Fields was paying her bills she was keeping quiet. She is also the relative of Mr. Fields ex-wife: another one of those Black women I mentioned earlier. Could it be he wouldn't put his name on anything for her, because he didn't want her boyfriend and relative to know? He runs the risk of being disbarred for violating the attorney-client relationship. Why would the players spend $150,000.00 for something they could get for $150.00 all day long?

Finally we have the piece of the puzzle that is unknown to this point. Mayor Herenton didn't reveal that person because he doesn't have one in particular. This is just the fuel to keep the fire burning. I don't think this person's name will be given to us soon. Their secret identity will be used to uncover the misdeeds of a lot of people. All these snakes are trembling in their tracks wondering if their name will come up next. Real or imagined there is a conspiracy of sorts, just not the one we think. There is no honor among thieves. What was intended to be a trap turned out to be a trump.

Laughter Is Good For The Soul

I was listening to a news story the other day about the plight of two mentally ill patients. Jim and Edna the two patients in this story. Were walking outside the hospital, when Jim fell in the deep end of the swimming pool. Jim unable to swim, sank to the bottom and lay there drowning. Edna had the presence of mind to jump in and rescue him as though she were a trained lifeguard.

They went back inside and word got around what Edna had done for Jim that day. News of what took place, impressed everyone that heard what happened. So much so, that it created a new diagnosis for Edna. The nurse on duty that day, unfortunately was the bearer of good and bad news. The good news she said "in light of your actions today we've determined that you are no longer insane. Based on those findings, arrangements for your dismissal will begin immediately".

The nurse told Edna to now brace herself for the bad news. She then continued "after Jim came back, he went in his room and hang himself with his bathrobe". Innocently Edna replied " he didn't do that. I didn't want him to catch a cold, so I hung him up to dry."

The Endorsement Of Death

I don't know if this helps Ms. Fullilove's chances of getting the appointment for interim council member. In hopes of taking the place of indicted councilman Ricky Peete. He has been said to be actively lobbying for the appointment of Janis Fullilove for his vacant council seat. This is either a smart political move or utterly stupid. If the voters are gullible enough to still trust Ricky Peete's judgement, this could prove beneficial. If the voters are smarter than the politicians give them credit for; this latest move could explode in their face.

It's no secret that the two have been political partners in the past. In former campaigns they have supported each other when it didn't create a problem. This time that probably won't be the case, since there isn't an incumbent in the race. Ricky Peete has nothing to lose as for as credibility goes. I think this is his last attempt to throw his weight around. He has been called the "Godfather of Memphis politics". They both have had the share of second chances by the public. In spite of past indiscretions they have still been elected to public office. Unless the voters perceive this as an act of loyalty by two underdogs in spite of how it looks. I don't see what good can come from this endorsement.

Winkler Walks

Today sentencing was passed down to Mary for her conviction of voluntary manslaughter, in the death of her husband Matthew Winkler. Out of a possible six year sentence behind bars. She received a total of 210 days, with credit for 143 days served. She can serve 60 of those days in a mental facility of her own choosing. You don't get much time for shooting your husband in the back while he's asleep. Get the full story at the link below:

Another Love D.O.A.

I waited a couple of days before I wrote this blog, expecting the story to change. We know a young officer senselessly lost his life, but we don't know what else actually happened. I have heard every conspiracy imaginable as to what might have took place. I don't think this was a racial issue as some believe, instead a lovers spat gone bad.I hate this thing happened, but it did. When you kick some one's door down. Being shot in the act, is a likely possibility. There have been some new things that have come to light, but the facts of the case remain the same.

What I think happened is a fatal case of machismo gone awry. Officer Kyles had no idea this would have gone this far. He was doing what I call "selling wolf tickets". He just wanted to intimidate his former girlfriend and her new lover. This isn't the first time he has bombrushed the place. If he pulled his gun out, and kicked the door down. He should have went in the door with guns blazing. His hesitation caused him to take two bullets. One in the rear, while he scuffled with Officer Watson. The other in the chest, both at point blank range. One thing people should learn is"don't pull a gun if you're not prepared to use it".

Scooter Libby Convicted On 4 Out Of 5

The highest ranking person in this administraction has been convicted on four out of five charges mounted against him. He is the first White House official to be convicted since the "Iran Contra Affairs". He was sentenced to thirty months behind bars. Which under federal guidelines require that he do at least twenty-four of them. Federal guidelines require that he do at least eighty percent of the time given. According to some Legal Analyst "two years in prison is a very long time for a white collar crime".
