It's Only A Book

Some people seem to think the basis, for all the problems in the Black community. Can be found between the covers, of this book. This book was just published in 1990. What did we do before then?

The Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors

Publisher: Third World Press
Date Published: November 1990
Format: Trade Paper

Preface

We now are nearing the final decade of the 20th century. Recently, there has been an unraveling and an analysis of the core issue of the first global power sysem of mass oppression-- the power system of racism (white supremacy). One the collective victim (non-white population) understands this fundamental issue, the ultimate organizing of all of the appropriate behaviors necessary to neutralize the great injustice of the white supremacy power system will only be a matter of time. The length of time required to neutralize global white supremacy will be inversely proportional to 1) the level of understanding of the phenomenon; plus 2) the evolution of self- and group-respect, the will, determination and discipline to practice the appropriate counter-racist behaviors--on the part of the non-white victims of white supremacy."

God Isn't Through With Me Yet, But The Caucus Is

Up until this point, Nancy Pelosi has a 50/50 record. That's not so bad, depending on which side you're on. Was it due to her influence, or the lack thereof? Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the house Democratic majority leader in congress. Had a say in one, but not the other. Her influence wasn't successful in getting John Murtha (D-PA.) elected, to Majority leader in the Senate. But it was instrumental in Keeping Alcee Hastings (D-FLA) out. As leader of the "House Intelligence Committee". He expected to step right in, as the second highest ranking Democrat on the committee. Instead they have chose to use an indictment issued prior to his run for congress. Charges of which he was acquitted. But still impeached from his position as a judge. Why start there ethics reform here? Considering their handling of ethics issues in the past. Why become so ethical all of a sudden? Do I detect dissension in the ranks?

I think this administration will be a wakeup call for some. Especially in the Black community. I know it's revelation for others. It has been and will be, in my case. To the unwelcome surprise of many. The Democratic party is not the second coming, for the Black community. Elite White Democrats, don't care for Blacks anyway. They just use them for their votes. To accomplish their agenda. The usuall outspokrn 'Black Caucus' isn't saying very much. It wouldn't matter if they did anyway. I don't think the majority would be listening. If you ask me,I think they are preparing for the bumpy road ahead. I have a feeling, this won't be the last surprise. After finding out that he wouldn't get the nod. Rep. Hastings was quoted as saying. "To all the haters, God isn't through with me yet".Maybe God isn't, but the caucus is.

Does A Degree Equal Intelligence

It is only in the Black community that we are so critical. Now we have regular citizens, who have appointed themselves the credential police. It amazes me that some people, who can't even read their name in boxcar letters. Would be such a stickler for education. When it comes to somebody else, especially one of their own. Some people have degrees out the yen yang, but don't have an ounce of common sense. Some people might take issue with this, but here goes anyway. Education is a wonderful thing, in it's proper context. It isn't always the answer though. Sometimes it make us end up being educated fools.

When I discovered this tidbit of information, I was shocked. One of the most influential White men in America, only has a high school diploma. This man talks with the President. His remarks are repeated among the elite. His opinions are heard across the nation, three hours a day. This is one of those areas where the Black man is really behind. When it comes to the White man, it only matters whether or not he can do the job. Black men have to be overly qualified. The sad thing is, Blacks are equally guilty. No other race is more critical of them, than they are of themselves.

To Tithe Or Not To Tithe

A question was asked today, that generated quite a bit of conversation. It pertained to the disparity in the number of collections, taken up at Black churches as opposed to White. In my church we only take up one. The pastors job, is to address the needs of his congregation. Our pastor has taught on the subject extensively. It has been the subject of discussion quite frequently. That's a very unpopular topic to some. It doesn't bother me because I understand. The number of collections could be due, to the congregation not grasping a bibical concept. If all the members of the congregation gave a tithe. The church coffers would be running over. Many people are disciplined and consistent, in service attendance and religious practices. They speak in tongues, and do a holy dance. Yet when it comes to giving, they fall terribly deficient. Many parishioners only give a tip, in place of a tithe. They earn a $1000 a week, and only put $20 in the collection plate. They give the church what's left over, instead of the firstfruits. If nothing else, they should understand. The church has expenses too. Nobody wants to go to a church, where the air or heat doesn't work. Many preachers have decided if they can't get it in one collection, they'll get it in the other.

I read about the attitudes exhibited, in the parable of the good Samaritan.

The priest and Levites were of the attitude. I've got mine and I'm going to keep it.

The thieves were of the attitude. It's yours, and I want it. So I'm going to get it.

The good Samaritan was of the attitude. It's mine and you can have it, if you need it.

There should be an attitude that permeates even the commendable one, of the good Samaritan. Everything belongs to God. It is only by his grace, that we possess anything. We are but stewards over his goods.

Let's Not Jump The Gun Here

I know it might sound like I'm hating. But believe me, I'm not a jealous hearted individual. I just want to save the uproar for something worthwhile. I must admit in this case, I'm less open-minded than usual. Whenever I see Al Sharptons face on something, an air of uncertainty arises. More than once his outcries, have turned out to be much about nothing. His most famous case to date, the Tawanna Brawley incident. Turned out to be something she created. If this is true concerning members of the NYPD. I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent. Let's be sure that we have the right culprits before we start a riot. Why would you contact Al Sharpton, if you had a legitimate case? He can only gain negative press. By calling him you automatically imply racism. That doesn't always translate to dollars. I can't imagine what it's like, to lose a loved one in this manner. I do know what it's like to let Mr. Sharpton get our feathers ruffled. Let's just wait and see, what the investigation reveals.

Not Worth Dying For

What Allen Iverson did in this instance was commendable. It would've been better if he never had the chance. What led up to it was senseless, and without justification. Nobody wants to go out like a punk, as they say. If you ask my opinion. It's better to walk away and live. Than put up a fight and die. Especially in a case like this one. A 22 yr. old lost his life, over an Allen Iverson starter jersey. They're on sale at your local mall, all day everyday. I think we have our priorities mixed up somewhat. When we consider it a honor to die, trying to hold on to a jersey. There's nothing liberating about that. Then there are those who question the intelligence, of those soldiers serving in the armed forces. I've heard all my life."If you don't stand for something. You'll fall for anything". When we take a stand. Let it be for something worth while.

Is This Racist Or Reaction

Why Was Barbara Bush In Argentina

King Of Double Dippin

It was revealed earlier today, what was happening in the Joe Townsend Jr. camp. I hate to say "I told you so", but unfortunately I did. Read my earlier post: http://indepcons.blogspot.com/2006/08/don't-sit-down-yet-were-still-dancing.html. The voters in Memphis are reduced to accepting levels of corruption. Since everyone is coming up dirty. Just pick the lesser of the evils. Earlier today someone actually argued the point with me,"everyone does that. So we can't hold that against him". My question to them was. If someone jumped into a firery furnace, would you do that also? Mr. Townsend was charging both his campaign contributions and the state for his expenses. Even after being warned his actions were illegal. His defense was, he didn't agree with the law. C'mon now that's no excuse. That brings up another question. Why are these officials accepting campaign contributions? When they aren't even waging campaigns? Some of them are running unopposed, and have been in several elections. If my predictions are correct. We can expect three more. This is just the first of four.

Isn't This Double Jeopardy

I think O.J. Simpson was given a raw deal this time. Whether or not he did it, he was acquitted. He is not supposed to be tried again, for the same crime. This is nothing more than a modern day lynching. They've been doing it with the courts. Now they're doing it with the media. I'm not one to play the race card, but this time it's inevitable. This is nothing more than the White American affluent citizenry. Having an issue with an affluent American Black. Taking advantage of the same judicial system. That they have always used themselves.

I know some people don't believe in the great hereafter. If nothing else works before then, that surely will. If he did it, he'll get his eventually. It's no longer left up to a jury. The Fox television network has pulled the plug, on the entire project. Citing public disapproval, as a reason. There goes a guaranteed $3.5 million down the drain. I wonder has the book already been written. I didn't jump on the bandwagon during the trial. I was prepared to accept the verdict. Unlike many other observers. Now that he has been found not guilty. The man should be allowed the freedom to pursue opportunities. Like everyone else that's supposedly free in America.

Tough Talk, But True

Michael Richard's comments may have exploded in his face. In hindsight, I'm sure he wish he had it to do over. They weren't totally off base though. To the contrary, they were unfortunately true. Fifty years ago it would have been a different story. That's why I always try and remind Blacks, of the advances in race relations. It wasn't very long ago. We were being slapped and kicked. We were attacked by police dogs, and sprayed with fire hoses. I remember pictures of sheriff "Bull Connors" vividly. Having this happen didn't make you a coward. Just a victim of the times. It was a normal occurrence, in some places. Thank God, these opinions don't represent the majority. I don't know how old Richard's is, but depending on how he looks. I think it's safe to say. Michael Richards came up during a time. When and where this could very well, have been the norm. I wonder how many people talk this way, behind closed doors?

As I watched the video. One thing came to mind. Contrary to what some people think. All White people aren't intimidated by Blacks. Some of them are just as ignorant. As they accuse Blacks of being. Of course I'm talking about the racist ones. Go to the link below and read the full fallout: http://www.tmz.com/2006/11/20/kramers-racist-tirade-caught-on-tape/

Tribute To Gerald Levert 1966-2006

Has The Time Come For The Draft

I don't support the draft. Congressman Charles Rangle is just trying to create another generation, of government dependent Democrats. When the war is over, we'll have the residue of what battle leaves behind. We will undoubtedly end up with a disproportionate amount of war related illnesses. For which the taxpayer will have to pay. People who otherwise don't support the war effort. Want to use it as a cleansing method, for the United States. A lot of people are buying into this draft, as a means of law enforcement. They think they can transport our crime problem, from here to there. Needless to say that won't work. If draftees are idiots outside the military. They'll be idiots, once they are drafted. What we will end up with, is a whole lot of entitlement minded people with the status of veterans. If by chance they survive their tour. Which the odds are they will. They'll just be more permanent fixtures, on the taxpayer rolls.

I worked at the V.A. hospital myself. Believe me when I say. They have more than their share, of militant extremist. They think this country owes them something, for stepping up to the plate. Just disregard the fact, that you need to feed your family. For some of them, the service is the best thing that could've happened. Without it they would probably have ended up doing time in jail. Instead they ended up, drawing substantial monthly government pensions. Yet they hate the goverment that makes it all possible. Look at what happened in Liberty city. Only a couple of months ago. The war has become less popular since then. I posted a blog concerning the story http://indepcons.blogspot.com/2006/06/no-thanks-no-volunteers-needed.html If the draft had been in place already. Those people would have been soldiers.

I heard a young man that's been to Iraq. Say it's nothing like, "what the media would have you think". He said he was glad he joined the army, and that we were doing a good thing in Iraq. Needless to say he didn't get to talk very long. The main people complaining about Iraq. Haven't been affected by this war at all. Other than paying higher gas prices. And maybe having their soap operas interrupted. I think this proposed draft is deceitful in it's design. It's just another way to sneak in through the back door. It is a way for those who didn't support this iniative from the start. To participate in the spoils of American sacrifices. The military is surviving with only volunteers. Some of those that were already in, struggled to get out. The Army isn't for everybody, so why force them to join?

As We Speak

I guess this is just beginning to register with some people. This major development concerning our nations economy, isn't first and foremost. Though undoubtedly it will have far reaching implications. Especially those depending on the labor market, for a living. Those jobs that can be done by others elsewhere, for a cheaper rate. I can't hold it against them. I only thought about it a month ago. Though the agreement was signed twelve years ago. It became more urgent to me, when they dedicated a new stretch of highway. Very close to where I live. I wrote a post about my concerns: http://indepcons.blogspot.com/2006/10/new-low-road.html. My opinion hasn't changed.

The problem is the American people are fickled. You can't have it both ways. The busiest store in the country is Walmart. The reason being, they have the lowest prices. If you look at the products on the shelves, 75% are foreign made. Every year the unionized American worker wants a raise. Yet when they go shopping, they still want a bargain. If every factory worker makes $20 hr., how can you keep a candy bar under a dollar? If the Mexican people would stay at home. That would boost our economy tremendously. If all the liberals moved to Canada, they would utilize free trade too. To see the overall picture. One would have to have a strong belief. Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. While we are complaining about what's inevitable. We have to look at the whole thing. This thing is happening as we speak.

Where Are They

I say this all the time. It's like spitting in the wind. Little droplets of saliva, end up everywhere. Not really hitting the intended target. I know the people that need to, won't read this article either. They are to caught up in the cycle. I really wish they would though.

Detroit Foreclosures Lead Nation
Nationally, foreclosures are way ahead of last year.
By Les Christie, CNNMoney.com staff writer

Top 10 List:Foreclosure Cities

According to the report, you won't have trouble finding foreclosures in these cities.
1. Detroit, Mich.
2. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
3. Denver, Colo.
4. Miami, Fla.
5. Dallas, Tex.
6. Indianapolis, Ind.
7. Fort Worth, Tex.
8. Atlanta, Ga.
9. Las Vegas, Nev.
10. Memphis, Tenn.

NEW YORK -- Detroit led all U.S. metro areas in the percentage of homes entering foreclosure during the third quarter, at more than four times the national average, according to a report released Friday. The report, by RealtyTrac, an online marketplace for foreclosure properties, also said that the foreclosure rate has spiked, up 17 percent from the previous quarter and 43 percent from a year earlier.James Saccacio, chief executive officer of RealtyTrac, attributed the increase to the broad slowdown in home sales and price growth and to the higher monthly payments on adjustable-rate mortgages that are resetting. The three cities with the highest foreclosure rates were a wildly disparate bunch; the Motor City, where auto industry woes have taken a huge toll on homeowners, was followed by Ft. Lauderdale in the Sun Belt, and Denver, the first city of the Rockies.Of the 100 largest U.S. metropolitan areas, the Bethesda/Frederick/Gaithersburg area of Maryland had the lowest foreclosure rate, just one for every 5,505 households, about 1/68th the rate reported for Detroit.

The Chicago area, ranked 19th, led in terms of sheer numbers: 16,155 homes entered into foreclosure there during the third quarter.

The 10 cities with the highest foreclosure rates:

Some of the places where the foreclosure rates fell substantially included Portland, Ore. (- 72 percent), Albuquerque (- 62 percent), Columbia, S.C. (- 52 percent) and Austin (- 32 percent). The nation's largest metro area, New York City, including Westchester County and parts of New Jersey, had just 6,467 homes enter foreclosure during the quarter, a drop of 13 percent. That was roughly half the rate of the nation as a whole.

Trickery and Chicanery

It appears a family from New Orleans, was given a home in Memphis. That they never even occupied. The "Temple Of Deliverance" pastored by presiding COGIC Bishop G.E. Patterson. Who hosted a campaign rally week before last, for Harold Ford Jr.. They seem to have been swindled this time. I'm sure they're not the only ones caught nodding. Though they're probably among the largest so far. I know there were temple members, in need of housing already. Before "Hurricane Katrina" ever took place. There were consistent tithers, and faithful members. That don't even live in $88,000 houses themselves. Some lived in the projects directly adjacent to the church. If church funds were used. Which now is a matter of contention. They will and should be very upset.

This was perfectly planned by the media. Unless of course, it was a disgruntled member. If indeed it was, I can't say I blame them. They let this story out, during the 99th annual convocation. The day before their largest yearly meeting. I'm sure the "Temple Of Deliverance" thought, this issue was dead and buried. This just goes to prove. What's done in the dark, will come to the light. I know Bishop Patterson is a man of God. His preaching skills are one of a kind. But he isn't above reproach. Bishop Patterson may very well be a giving man, but let's be real. I don't think he's that benevolent though. There were families in need of his help. Much more than the Thomas's. He claims to have purchased the house himself. Though the family in question was brought before the church. What he does with his own money, is his own business. So why did the church have to get his approval, or him theirs? For something they weren't supposed to even know about. In my humble opinion this was more faith based initiatives. Something the Black community unwittingly constantly complains about. I mostly blame the Black ministers. As much as anyone else. For not letting their congregations know, where these funds are coming from. Instead having them think, this is due to their generosity. And not the policies, of the present administration. I think the husband let the cat, out of the bag. When he said " take it up with God". Since these acts are commited in his name. The church is involved, in a lot of trickery and chicanery.

Two Out Of Three, Is Bad

The familiar addage is two out of three, ain't bad. Usually that sounds good. Except in this particular case. When it comes to the congressional "Black Caucus". That's not necessarily true. Since it's inception in 1969, there have only been three Black Republicans included. Two congressman, and one senator. Even one of those refused to join. I find two things wrong with this picture. First it shows that all the Black races eggs, are in the same basket politically. Blacks support the Democratic party with 88% of the vote. If you want our vote, just run Democrat. Secondly, we haven't had a voice in quite some time. The Republicans have held the majority, of both the house and senate. For the last twelve years. You can't score, if you're not in the game.

Senator Brooke (R-Mass.) was the only Black Senator , read his bio below :

A Little Humor

A boy and his mother, were sitting home alone one evening. When all of a sudden the phone rang. The boy answered the phone. It was the preacher, and he wanted to speak to his mother. The boy summoned his mother to the phone, as requested. The mother came to the phone, and had a short conversation. Then she got off and told her son. " Go upstairs and take a bath. The preacher is on his way over".

After the boy had finished taking his bath. The phone rang again. This time it was his father. Calling and checking on his family. To see how they were doing. He asked his son "what are you doing"? The boy told him he had just taken a bath. The father asked him "why he was bathing so early". He said he was just sitting around, waiting for the preacher. The father asked him which one? The boy said he didn't know.

The father thought for a minute. Then he replied:

If it's the COGIC preacher, hide the money.

If it's the Methodist preacher, hide the liquor.

If it's the Baptist preacher, sit in your momma's lap.

K-Fed Not Ex-ed Soon Enough

If you ask me, the marriage should have never got off the ground. It was doomed to begin with. Kevin Federline had an ongoing relationship, with actress Shar Jackson. Not to mention she also was pregnant, with their second child. He dropped Shar like a hot potato, when Britney came on the scene. I didn't feel sorry for Ms. Jackson then. I don't feel sorry for her now. I don't blame K-Fed he was just making it, do what it do. This time he did it to Britney.

Don't paint Ms. Spears out to be a helpless victim here. This whole thing wouldn't be happening, in the first place. Had she exercised some common decency. She is just as guilty, if not moreso. Than everyone else involved. Her abundant success and wealth. Was the driving force, behind the betrayal. She is rumored to be worth $130 million. Prenuptial or not, she won't get away scott free. She was aware of his living situation. How he abandoned the other mother and children, and hooked up with her. She went ahead and married him anyway. He went through her money, like a hot knife through butter. He has a reputation of being a big spender. Now they both are filing for divorce. Two children and two years later, the ride has come to an end. If Britney had it to do all over again. She would have ex-ed Mr. Federline before now.

Democrats 50 / Republicans 49 / Independents ?

There may be light at the end of the tunnel after-all. The Democrats may not have swept both the house and senate. Joseph Lieberman who didn't get the nomination for the Democratic party. He was reelected to his Senate seat, as an Independent candidate. The one he has held since 1988, as a Democrat. His centrist views are what loss the nomination for him, to begin with. He has said he would caucus with the Democrats in the Senate, unless he was made to feel uncomfortable. What exactly does that mean? Based on the events that lead up to him being an Independent. You can almost rest assured that's going to happen. Obviously there was some differences. They mounted a successful campaign within the party against him. Unless he is willing to change his stances,or the party is willing to change theirs. Which I don't think is likely to happen. They both have track records, of being the way they are. I think we are in for an even split, in this 110th Congressional Senate.

To get a closer look at Joseph Lieberman, look at the link below :

Perception Is Reality

At the tenth annual "National Gay and Lesbian Task Force" awards banquet. NAACP ceo Julian Bond, was awarded the organizations leadership award. Upon further investigation and fact finding. I wanted to be fair in my conclusions. I discovered that as head of the NAACP Mr. Bond has been very active in homosexual matters. To some he might even be considered an activist. Well obviously his involvement has been beneficial to someone. He is receiving the organizations top award.

As of late I have often had problems, with the causes they have championed. Seems like they're just in place to cry discrimination. I think the racism cry has gotten weak. In an attempt to maintain public appeal. Their scope has stretched. I protest their stances, by withholding my membership. The argument often arises, whether or not this is a civil rights issue. I would think not. My opinions are based on the fact. Blacks had no choice in their race. Homosexual do their sexuality. Even if they don't have a choice. Like I'm sure some will say. You don't get special treatment, based on who you sleep with. Could homosexuals feel this is a civil rights issue, because the chairman of the NAACP said so? Looks that way to me, perception is reality.

Jack Palance 1919-2006

I couldn't begin to name all the movie roles, I have seen this man play. He is just one of those actors. That seems to have always been around. He may best be remembered for his acceptance, of an academy award in 1992. He will most be remembered for the one armed push-ups he did. When he accepted his award for best supporting role. In the movie " City Slickers". What I remember him most for, is a comment he made during an interview. He said "regardless where he ended up when he died. He had a piece of heaven right here on earth". Those sound like the words of a happy man.

Ed Bradley 1941-2006

A mainstay on all of our television sets. Someone we as a nation have come to trust. After a bout with leukemia, has passed away. Ed Bradley, a face and voice synonymous with information. Will no longer be the weekly voice of reason. We have come to expect, over the last twenty-five years. He bid America his final good-night.

Enough Talking Points, The Election Is Over

Now that the Democrats control both the house and senate. They have the chance to implement all their so-called solutions. Instead of walking the walk, they're just talking the talk. There's no need to continue the rhetoric, the elections are over. These are some of their latest war cries. These ambitious words have spread like wildfire, among those Democratic cheerleaders. They're repeating them already, like a well rehearsed cheer. I've heard the same thing in at least three different places. I'm posting this message on November 10th, 2006. I bet $100 to a donut, 100 days from now. Let alone the first 100 hours in office. Nothing will have really changed. How do they propose to do in two weeks? Supposedly what the Republicans haven't done in twelve years. We'll visit this same post again, in February 2007. So we can analyze their progress. I'm sure that will be a short post.

What will they do first?

In the first hundred hours of a Democratic Congress:

We will restore civility, integrity, and fiscal responsibility to the House of Representatives. We will start by cleaning up Congress, breaking the link between lobbyists and legislation and commit to pay-as-you-go, no new deficit spending.

We will make our nation safer and we will begin by implementing the recommendations of the independent, bipartisan 9/11 Commission.

We will make our economy fairer, and we will begin by raising the minimum wage. We will not pass a pay raise for Congress until there is an increase in the minimum wage.

We will make health care more affordable for all Americans, and we will begin by fixing the Medicare prescription drug program, putting seniors first by negotiating lower drug prices. We will also promote stem cell research to offer real hope to the millions of American families who suffer from devastating diseases.

We will broaden college opportunity, and we will begin by cutting interest rates for student loans in half.

We will energize America by achieving energy independence, and we will begin by rolling back the multi-billion dollar subsidies for Big Oil.

We will guarantee a dignified retirement, and we will begin by fighting any attempt to privatize Social Security.

Who Controls America, (Dead Presidents)

The people in America are lead by people, who no longer say anything. Most of them haven't in hundreds of years. Based on that fact, I must conclude. Ignorance controls America. The question is "who controls what America thinks"? Based on the results of the last election. It's not what the people know that mobilizes them. It's what they don't. Who plants these ideas in our heads? Who makes us focus on one thing, or the other. As opposed to what we really should. In my humble opinion, it's the people with the most money (Dead Presidents). Those people with the hidden agendas. "He who has the gold, makes the rules". Here on earth that's always been the case. It doesn't matter what race you are. Only how much you can,or how much you're willing to pay.

That's the major determining factor. It is widely believed that everything has a price. Some things not that much. We as a nation, are so gullible. We believe what we're told we should. How can you be convinced you're suffering? About to go under any day. When you have more than you ever had before? In many cases more than you need. Because of liberal lending practices. Bankruptcies and foreclosures, are at an all time high. For those people who work for a living. Whatever money you have, you'll soon have less. Once the newly elected Democrats raise your taxes. Which they've already said they would. What makes you focus on a war, in another country? That you only see on the evening news. As opposed to the one, in your neighborhoods? That you encounter on a daily basis. The one that has you afraid to leave your house.

I bet most people reading this blog, don't know about George Soros. Though everybody that can read or hear. Have been indirectly influenced by him. This cat hates George Bush so much. He has spent millions of his own money. To scandalize the Bush name. Homosexuals and pro-abortionist, funded campaigns all over the country. To advance their agendas. In my hometown, they almost got someone elected. The people never heard of before (Nikki Tinker). In the winner Steve Cohen, they were still victorious. Hillary Clinton spent $29 million in an uncontested race. She was part of an overall plan. To make people focus on the war, and gasoline prices. Instead of taxes and security. Which affect the voters the most. In the midst of these premature celebrations. Now that we have the first majority Democratic house and senate. I ask "now what"?

I Don't Blame Him

I know the Democrats are dancing in the streets. They have blamed this man from the beginning. For the condition of the troops, in the war in Iraq. Eight retired generals have asked for Donald Rumsfeld's resignation. I don't blame him for stepping down. I wouldn't subject myself to the abuse either. Why walk into the fire, holding sticks of dynamite? Surely it's going to explode. I wouldn't want to have to deal with a collective group of people, who oppose my position. Even with just the fact, that I hold the job. I think Mr. Rumsfeld looked at the situation ahead, and decided it wasn't worth the trouble. Former CIA director Robert 'Bob' Gates has been pegged to take over. The voters seemed to have spoken decisively. They wanted to get the Republicans out. To appoint a new Defense Secretary, would definitely signal a change in direction. For the sake of clarity. He wasn't fired, he resigned.

I'm Not Really Sure

I was hesitant to post this message, because of the timing. I don't think it has anything to do, with the Republican party itself. Not according to Democrats though. Since same-sex marriage amendments are on ballots, all over the country. They're trying to paint a picture of conservatives being hypocritical and judgmental. Let's just say we discovered a Democrat, who practiced beastiality. Would all Democrats be accused of that? This is more of indictment of the person in question, than any organization or party. They came out with the Foley scandal too fast. The people have figured it out, and already gotten over the shock. The latest charge is directed at a minister. Ted Haggard was the leader of an evangelical group against gay-marriage, with 30 million members. In addition to a 14 thousand member church, founded by him. He has stepped down from both positions. Needless to say a lot of people listened to him.

Let me first say I'm not condoning his actions. If indeed they are true. In my humble opinion. There's not many things worse than a homosexual, hipocrite. Though I know some will say I am, because I introduce a spin. I think he used methamphetamine, but I don't think he had gay sex. In a letter of apology, he said he was guilty of sexual immorality. Continued involvement with a person of this character, would qualify as such. He still hadn't said exactly what he did. I think he got caught up in the mix. This man had a following of over 30 million people. He's in too deep. I don't think he would chance that. I will be following this story to see how it turns out.

Look at the links below:

Now, This Is Tacky

I don't know exactly who is responsible for this, but it's really tacky. If this is the work of the RNC. They ought to be ashamed. This ad is befitting some of the accusations made, about earlier campaign ads. This ad is scraping the bottom of the barrel. I think both candidates are better than this. They have both done enough otherwise. To not have to sink to this level. That's what happens with a small leak. When it's not fixed. It eventually becomes a floodgate. Every bad thing that's tucked away, is going to come out. This could have really happened, but what does it matter now? One good thing about all of this for Harold Ford. Is what he hasn't been called. The young single Congressman hasn't been accused, of being a homosexual. In today's political climate, that's a good thing. It's a shame, it has come to this.

What Goes Around, Comes Around

I'm sure Saddam Hussein, never expected this day to come. When he was ordering one-hundred fifty people of Dujail killed, supposedly for attempting to assassinate him. They make up only a small number, of those he has executed. He probably didn't expect to be judged for his indiscretion. Especially not one as small as this one. Compared to some of the larger mass killings.Up until this trial, he pretty much went unchecked. Prior to his capture. He was a blood thirsty, ruthless dictator. Killing countless Iraqis on a whim. Whenever he took a notion. On Sunday he was sentenced to be hanged for his crimes. The Shiites and Kurds, were dancing in the streets. They have reason to be happy. I think they appreciate the American troops. Tens of thousands of them have been killed at his behest. They better celebrate while they can. Their celebration might be short lived. The Sunni who are largely responsible for the violence in Iraq. Based on the verdict, are expected to retaliate.

Saddam Hussein has a chance to do something, most people don't. Most of us know not the hour, or the day. We will take our last breath. We can't even pray for forgiveness. Which is what Saddam should be doing right now. Currently his life is flashing before his eyes. Giving him the unique opportunity to have 20/20 hindsight. He has plenty of time to discover. Whether or not the things he has done. Are responsible for him being in this shape. If all goes as planned. He will have thirty days to appeal the decision. After then, sentence will be carried out. Unlike here in America, a death sentence doesn't take twenty years. It's ironic that he now wants to acknowledge God. Had he done this in the first place. He wouldn't be in this predicament now.

Mark White On Andrew Clarksenior

I'm sure by now it's obvious who I support. I'm not overly optimistic about his chances though. It's going to be an uphill battle. Yet we still forge ahead. In hopes of making a difference. Knowing all power put in place, is allowed by God.I was impressed with his appearance on the show. He answered all the questions asked, with conviction and sincerity. It makes it easier when you stand for something. You don't have to remember what you said, when you tell the truth. A characteristic which both his opponents lack. All of the naysayers didn't give him a chance. They didn't even bother to ask him any questions. Probably out of fear of uncovering their candidates. The lines should have been hot, in such a heated race. The thing that bothers me most. He has the unenviable position of being #2, on too many lists. Some voters are saying,"If I didn't vote for him, I'd vote for you". Coming in second only counts, when you're running in pairs.

The Story Behind The Lawn Jockey

The Story Of Jocko
What is the history behind "Jocko"?

Jocko or the Lawn Jockey is seen in the South and in the Appalachian's of the United States.
Many have been destroyed because of the thinking that they are a racial slur to African-Americans. But is this true?

The River Road African American Museum in Louisiana tells us that lawn jockeys represent nothing of the sort, rather they show us a proud moment in U.S. history.

The story begins the icy night in December 1776 when General George Washington decided to cross the Delaware River to launch a surprise attack on the British forces at Trenton.
Jocko Graves, a twelve-year-old African-American, sought to fight the Redcoats, but Washington deemed him too young and ordered him to look after the horses, asking Jocko to keep a lantern blazing along the Delaware so the company would know where to return after battle. Many hours later, Washington and his men returned to their horses who were tied up to Graves, he had frozen to death with the lantern still clenched in his fist. Washington was so moved by the young boy's devotion to the revolutionary cause he commissioned a statue of the "Faithful Groomsman" to stand in Graves's honor at the general's estate in Mount Vernon.

By the time of the Civil War, these "Jocko" statues could be found on plantations throughout the South: like the North Star that pointed fleeing slaves to their freedom, the Jocko statues pointed to the safe houses of the Underground Railroad. Along the Mississippi River, a green ribbon tied to a statue's arm — whether clandestinely or with the owner's knowledge — indicated safety; a red ribbon meant danger. Thus these original lawn jockey statues today fetch thousands of dollars as true artifacts of the Underground Railroad that conducted so many African-American slaves to freedom.

Similar cast-iron statues began appearing in the decades after Washington's crossing of the Delaware in jockey silks, whether for aesthetic reasons or confusion born of Graves's first name. The clothing worn by the lawn jockeys resembled the clothing worn by black riding jockeys, who have a glorious history. In 1875, the first 13 winners of the Kentucky Derby were black, the first being Jockey Oliver Lewis.
Lewis was the first to win three Derbies.

So contrary to some folk's thinking that these statues are a racial slur they are a memorial to Jocko, a beacon for Freedom and a tribute to some of the greatest Jockey's racing has ever known!

Jake Ford On Andrew Clarksenior

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Between the three candidates in the race. Jake Ford was the only one. Who refused to accept the invitation. I wonder what his reasoning was? He could have really scored some brownie points here. This would have been the perfect opportunity, to make his positions known. That's what most people have against him anyway. If he wants to address the issues. I would expect him to seize this chance. To quiet all the naysayers. Could it be that he doesn't really have one? His campaign has largely been centered around attacking Steve Cohen. I find it interesting, that many of his supporters took time to call the show. Asking Cohen to come on another show. Where he wouldn't get a unbiased interview. None of them bothered to explain his refusal to come. O think he is afraid to be questioned by himself. His campaign has largely been centered around attacking Steve Cohen.

Steve Cohen On Andrew Clarksenior

Mr. Cohen is a true politician, in every sense of the word. He lived up to his reputation, as a tenacious, skilled debater. After conversing with him today. I am somewhat proud of myself. I can truly say,"I can hang with the best of them". His camp isn't to shabby either. They waited until after early voting was over, for him to come on WREC. They tend to have a more informed audience. Than the other local radio stations. He would have been asked the real questions, like he was today. As usual he danced around certain issues, with long pointless diatribes. What does President Bush, have to do with the 9the district? Congress has 435 members. If he wins he will only be one. He can't do anything by himself. Most of his campaign promises are just fluff. Not to be confused with things he can really accomplish.

It was somewhat of a rushed format I thought. Those people who disagreed with senator Cohen, were held to a strict time limit. They were only allowed to ask one question. I got him to inadvertently admit his support, of same sex-marriage. It's either or, there's no in between. I had another question. I wanted to know his position on immigration. I'm sure he had a flaky position on that issue as well. As I said earlier,"each debate makes him look worse. For those that support him. He did a fine job. As for me, I wasn't impressed.

Stacking The Deck

Surely the Democrats don't think anyone is falling for this tactic. Since their was a record turnout in early voting. Which usually favors the Republican candidates. There are already claims of voter irregularities. The election is not even over. We don't know who the winners are yet. Thirteen voter smartcards have somehow already come up missing. We should have expected as much. After the outcome of lawsuits for the August elections.Instructions on how to manipulate or alter the Diebold voting machines. Have been plastered all over the internet, for the last three months. A couple of minutes and a screwdriver, are all that you need. The election commission states "the cards can't be activated". Once they've been used before. There is supposedly a website available. Explaining how to reactivate the cards. Don't you find that convenient?

I wonder where those precincts are? In a predominately Democratic district I bet. I don't think these are the same people guilty of the infractions before. This is more than likely a copycat. Surely they wouldn't be dumb enough to try it again. Especially not the same thing. The elections are only as honest as the people who participate. I wrote a blog earlier talking about this same thing. Check it out http://indepcons.blogspot.com/2006/09/lawsuits-by-losers.html. It talks about the lawsuits filed, by losers of local races. All the way to how to hack the machines. Just like they tried to stack the deck then. They're trying to do the same thing now.

Why They Call It The White House

Naming conventions
When construction was finished the porous sandstone walls were coated with a mixture of lime, rice glue, casein, and lead, giving the house its familiar color and name. The building was originally referred to variously as the "President's Palace," "Presidential Mansion," or "President's House." Dolley Madison called it the "President's Castle." The earliest evidence of the public calling it the "White House" was recorded in 1811 due to its white-painted stone exterior. The name "Executive Mansion" was used in official context until President Theodore Roosevelt established the formal name by having the de facto name "White House–Washington" engraved on the stationery in 1901. President Franklin Roosevelt changed his letterhead to "The White House" with the word "Washington" centered beneath. That convention remains today.

Finally Flipped His Lid

I wasn't aware of John Kerry's latest medical procedure. Though I don't care for him politically. I do wish him a speedy recovery, from his lobotomy. It doesn't appear to have been successful. He's still up to his same old tricks, of bobbing and weaving. I figured he would still be punch drunk, from the beating he took in 2004. So I'm not surprised at him making stupid statements. His latest comments top the cake though, even for him. He accused the soldiers in Iraq, of being under achievers. Not being a very smart bunch. I guess he forgot about the Swift Boat ordeal. That's what sunk his ship the last time. True to form he has flip flopped. After two days of being grilled by both parties. He has apologized to everyone who he may have offended. He claims it was a botched joke, directed at President George Bush. The public isn't buying that excuse. It's about time some of these people suffer some repercussions, for their irresponsible statements. You have free speech, but you can't yell fire. In a crowded building.

Coalition Of The Former Talkshow Hosts

Today I heard Janis Fullilove, former radio personality and new Charter Commission member. Endorse Independent candidate Jake Ford for congress. I think she waited until kind of late in the game. To come out on his behalf. She gave a somewhat endorsement in August. On an obscure station, where few people heard. Though it's better late than never. He needed her a long time ago. Like when he first decided to run. I think she was waiting on Harold Ford Sr., to request her services. I know she was torn, to have to make a choice between him and the mayor. This is out of character for her. She is usually a staunch Herenton supporter. Maybe that's why she chose this race. Her endorsement won't make much difference anyway.

Even though I don't think much of this group of voters. I am aware that they do exist. They are nothing more than gullible, impressionable sheep. People like Janis Fullilove and others, are the chosen shepherds. These people are not the big spenders in the community. So they don't draw the advertisers. Therefore the venues for their rhetoric. Have all been kicked off the air. These people aren't the majority, but they still have a vote.If we could get them all together they would make a significant showing. I haven't heard who Leon Gray supports. I know who his cousin L. Lasimba Gray is pushing. He has done commercials for Jake Ford. Leon doesn't usually go against him. Last night the last soldier standing, was shot down. At least he won't be on air for a while. J.C. Floyd of WLOK, announced it was his last night. Since then I have heard conflicting stories. I wish all three of them would get together, and cast their support for Jake. With all of the former WLOK personalities. Even then he couldn't win. It would damage Steve Cohen terribly. Possibly causing an upset. A little blue bird told me something else. I trust them enough to go ahead and say. WDIA has added to the casualty list. They no longer employ two familiar voices. James Davis and Captain Curtis Lee. They both are devout liberals. Though probably for very different reasons. Maybe they'll throw their hat into the ring. If everything works out as I predict. Good work Janis.
