You Got The Right One

It's a different story when you're dealing with someone as off the chain as you are. KoKo Ware is a fool just like Thaddeus Matthews is, plus he fights for a living. People say wrestling is fake but it takes athletiscism to make it look real.I have never really been a "Birdman" fan but his stock is quickly rising. What he has lacked in originality in the past he has made up for in persistence. Whether he was a headliner or not he was a trooper. I bet Corey Maclin is glad KoKo found a new target so he can take his sights off him. Not very long ago he was giving Corey fits.

The pictures aren't indicative of the way the altercation went down. Thaddeus would have you think he held his own, but looks like Cory and Jimmy saved his butt. After hearing Thaddeus's version of what took place. I watched the entire episode from start to finish this morning and it wasn't quite like he said. I think he thought it was part of the act until KoKo shoved him. This time I think Thaddeus unexpectedly bit off more than he could chew. I'm sure he has realized that by now but I could have told him from the jump.If he wants to make his mark in professional wrestling. You Got The Right One

He Knew It Was Coming

In my opinion John Calipari and R.C. Johnson have pulled off the college coaching caper of the century. They took the Memphis fans and boosters on a roller coaster ride even though they knew this indictment was down the road. Just suppose he hadn't took the job at Kentucky? We would still be on the hook for his new multi-million dollar contract R.C. Johnson was trying to sell the people.. I have been critical of John Calipari's tenure from the beginning. The school gave him an open checkbook and he still didn't come through. When everybody was so high on him and the team. I talked about my reservations then: http://indepcons.blogspot.com/2008/04/blank-check.html

This is one time I wish I had been wrong with my predictions but I knew it was just a matter of time. My brother for one is to say the least heartbroken about this whole thing. Waders won't work anymore they're in up to their elbows. This city bought into this program hook, line and sinker without any reservations. He still had people defending his poor coaching ability that lost the NCAA championship in 2008. Now we have these allegations and the possibility of having that whole season struck from the record. How will they explain this?

I just can't get beyond all the people in the know being in on the secret. Even the president of the university was part of the scheme It adds credence to my presumption that we were being shafted all the time. It all makes perfect sense to me now. He was getting out while the getting was good. http://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=18936043&postID=7965122550070458674. This is nothing new for John Calipari. . His stay at UMass ended pretty much the same. He left town on the first thing smoking. This might have been a surprise to a lot of people but not to Calipari. He knew it was coming.

Which Do You See First

America is infatuated with a big voluptuous derriere, especially on a white girl. It acts like an eraser that wipes away everything in her past. She doesn't even have to be very pretty. Kim Kardashian of reality show fame is proof of that. What else has she done? Since when does making a pornographic video land you a spot on all the runways and interviews on all the popular t.v. talkshows? Not to mention being the girlfriend of a superstar NFL player who also won a Heisman trophy. Vanessa Williams done a lot less and was stripped of the Miss America crown. And she was pretty and could sing too.

America's love affair with a big booty first came to the forefront with Jennifer Lopez. All she had to do is stay with Puff Daddy. She would have been on easy street now. A big butt has always ruled with the brothers. It's required to be a dime. She could have retired on her curves alone. But it obviously wasn't enough for her to retire as the first lady of Hip-Hop. She had her sights set on bigger things than that. She wanted to marry a high profile white man like Ben Affleck for instance. That's the one thing that big butt doesn't remove. White men don't want to go behind a brother. Kim seems to have figured that out. "Once you go black you can't go back." Just improve your position with them. I guess that's why every time you see her face you see her butt. I guess the question would be. Which do you see first?

Sonia Sotomayor Picked For Supreme Court

There are several angles from which this choice can be viewed. This was a gimme in a sense for President Barack Obama this time. It didn't require much thought on his part. Her name is the only one that has been mentioned since Justice Souter announced he was stepping down. I'm not going to make unsubstantiated claims against her, but I have some of the same concerns about Sonia Sotomayor as I did Justice Souter. There are only two things that can happen here. It can remain the same or it can get better.

Looking back at some of her most notable cases. She strikes evenly from both sides. My hope is she'll be a surprise to the Democrats like her predecessor Justice Souter was to the Republicans. I think she may show Hispanics are much more loyal to their heritage than we think. She may surprise us with some of her rulings.

I Would Pay To See This

I see some fireworks here. Every since Thaddeus Matthews and Snowman had a falling out. I have long wanted to see a fight between the two, but this match is even better and more likely to happen. This one might also be more exciting than that one. If it doesn't take place it won't be because the promoters didn't try to make it happen. Since Snowman has a dark cloud hanging over him dealing with improper behavior with a teenage boy. That plus the latest actions of his infamous son have taken him out of a position of public appeal. Even his former fan base doesn't want to be associated with him anymore.

Just when I had written Memphis Wrestling off. In comes KoKo Ware who is still active and obviously willing to take Thaddeus Matthews on unlike Bobby Ojay or the elderly Jimmy Hart. The Birdman called Thaddeus out in public this past weekend and according to Thaddeus the two had to be kept apart. Supposedly Cory Maclin was the only thing that stood between them. But Cory being the promoter he is, that didn't likely happen. I can't see why he wouldn't pounce on this like a fat man on a doughnut. There hasn't been much excitement recently in Memphis Wrestling but all that just changed. I would pay to see this.

Blabbermouth Of The South

I find Thaddeus Matthews' radio show quite entertaining, but he has made it clear he doesn't want independent thinkers to call his show. He just wants those people to listen and help boost his ratings. Hoping they'll mention his name somewhere else. No self respecting man or woman is going to call in and be disrespected and talked to crazy. You'll only hear those people that agree with him or don't care one way or the other. That's why you can't rely on anything he says. Laugh if it's funny but don't take it serious. Anything he says take it with a grain of salt because it might not be true. I know firsthand because he has lied on me before.

I used to listen for his demise, but he's still on the air. Then I heard the "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart on his show and I finally figured it out. His demise may not come in the form of him being kicked off the air all together. To look back on how things were and might have been is a special kind of torture in itself. Just like Memphis wrestling went from the Mid-South Coliseum to a banquet hall on Madison Ave. somewhere. That's why Cory Maclin is trying to get a day job. As for Thadeus. it may just be him being relegated to a shock jock selling commercial slots to stay on a 10,000 watt radio station. There was a brief period when his influence was far reaching and could have made a difference. He was really on to something that could have been big. He could have been selling his show to KWAM instead of him buying time from them. His antics have taken care of that though. He wants to challenge Jimmy Hart for his title."Mouth of the South." I like the way Hart let him know the nickname was patented. So he'll be looking at a lawsuit if he uses it without permission. But I have one I'm sure he can use that will fit him just right. He should call himself "Blabbermouth of the South.".

I Had A Feeling

When I saw this defendant on television yesterday, I knew he was going to get off light. I know you're saying "how did he get off light when he was convicted of second degree murder on all four counts?" The reason I think he got off light. He's looking at 15 to 25 years instead of life without parole or the death penalty. In any other court with any other lawyer he probably would have been found guilty of the latter. He had the best defense in this city money could buy....Leslie Ballin.

This trial set somebody back a pretty penny. Judging from the fathers outburst yesterday it was probably him. Some think Ballin expected even more of a break than he got, but I don't see how. Based on the stoic look on Chris Jones' face he was expecting a miracle too. In my opinion he almost got one. When they brought up the fact that meth was in the victims' system, I had a feeling,

Keep It To Yourself

This is the beauty of the Internet. I was able to research and track down a story that even IRN missed. Take my word that's unusual. They go over the news with a fine toothed comb. I asked Chuck Bates about this and he hadn't heard. That just shows no one can be every where at once. It also shows homosexuals are busy pushing their agenda all over the place. I happened to hear about this while listening to someone endorsing another piece of legislation. If the military policy is "don't ask, don't tell." Why have all these people lost their jobs for coming out about their sexuality? It would seem if you kept your mouth closed and did your job there wouldn't be a problem

In spite of landmark defeats in the state of California. The fight hasn't stopped just changed locations. In the last 100 days more states have legalized same-sex marriage than there has been in the last eight years. What do you think has changed in that time frame? This might be a little to simple for some people's taste or it doesn't suit their agenda. But I guarantee it will work. There has always been homosexuals every since this country was formed. What people do in the privacy of their homes doesn't concern most people. Why all of a sudden does it matter? Homosexuals would have the battle half won if they just learned to "keep it to yourself."

Should He Be Ashamed

It really depends on who you ask. Let me say off the top, my disapproval of the book is not rooted in jealousy or wishing I had thought of it first. Because, as a matter of fact I did. In a much less graphic way I might add and that was said to be to raw. I addressed the scripture some time ago minus the racy descriptions. Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Go to the link and see what I said in 2005. http://indepcons2.blogspot.com/2005/12/is-oral-sex-sin.html Bringing up this subject could be considered offensive depending on the listener. A woman with the wrong spirit might consider it as being fresh. Some women think everyone is trying to hit on them. A man whose not subjected to the word himself or not your buddy might just consider it out of line.

I think Dr. Spencer crossed the line this time with the writing of this book. I don't doubt he had parishioners with itching ears willing to embrace whatever he says, but as a minister he should have kept it holy. He is held to a higher standard than the average person. Look how many people are talking about this book. Spiritual conversation shouldn't be the same as talk around the watercooler at work or backroom talk with the boys. It appears the book is reaching far more than the married couples at his church it was supposedly written for in the first place. Considering how things have turned out. Should he be ashamed?

One For The Underdog

We Can't And Shouldn't Blame Her

So as not to incriminate myself. I won 't say how, but I know this is not the whole story. Some of these elected jobs are so bogged down with politics it's impossible for our elected officials to do an effective job. Once in office the payback of favors begins. If you don't play ball with certain parties you won't get the job. Some of those employees indicted have probably been there as long or longer than Ms. Stamson herself. There are citizens who think Debbie Stamson should take responsibility for this latest scandal. Ms. Stamson worked for the clerks office some twenty plus years before she was elected as County Court Clerk. She would have to be naive or stupid not to be aware of some corruption at some level taking place. Having said that doesn't mean she was involved.

I would bet the whistle blower is a disgruntled employee or someone who didn't get their expected cut of the money. We have discovered that these scams can be quite profitable. Not discounting the notion that someone could have done it just because they were honest. Whose to say Debbie Stamson didn't do it herself. She has already announced that she won't be seeking reelection. Just think about how the indictments have come down. Why did so many of them include City Councilwoman Barbara Swearengen-Holt? I think it was meant to show just how high this corruption goes. This office is responsible for over 650,000 license plates as well as disabled placards, business and marriage licenses. There is no way possible to be everywhere at once. If she's not alerted to a particular problem. It could easily go unnoticed. As long as we don't have evidence of her taking money herself. We can't and shouldn't blame her.

Black Conservatives Get A Bad Rap

">

What do Asians, Hispanics or Iranians in this country call each other when they don't agree politically? We know whites are just considered Conservative or Liberal. That's without even having to provide proof of income or explain why. Whites have the freedom to make a choice unlike blacks. Blacks are automatically assumed to be card carrying Democrats. If they aren't, that's when the name calling starts.

I do think sometimes some of the complaints are valid, but many are exaggerated. We have an atmosphere where ignorance has an equal voice. When a high school dropout questions the intelligence of a Supreme Court Justice. Needless to say it's mot an even playing field. Whether it's due to ignorance or indoctrination. Black Conservatives get a bad rap.

I Got This

When you look at Barack Obama's meteoric rise to the highest office in the land, it's understandable why he might be over confident or some might say he's cccky. This guy is going against the status quo or traditional politics and he has taken people all over the world along for the ride. For everybody that feels they didn't get an even break somewhere along the way or felt that America has snubbed them; this is your chance to even the score. Every country that has ever felt snubbed by the U.S. can now get appeasement. The president has gone on what seems like a worldwide apology tour.

One thing I've noticed about President Obama lately is his demeanor has changed. When it comes to challenging his wishes in front of others. Publicly he doesn't even take opposition seriously. He just gets that smug grin on his face and shrugs it off. Most of the time he receives softball questions from adoring fans that only make him look good. On those rare occasions he doesn't, he has mastered the art of double talk. He has found a permanent home in the gray area. A word of advice to those who disagree with his policies. Just like he obviously has come to realize. His opponents need to recognize the liberal, socialist agenda is going down.

A prime example of his willingness to impose his will on others in spite of what they might think before they get a chance to hear his pitch exudes from him. It's like a gambler being on a winning streak. Why quit when everything you touch turns to gold. He possesses that salesman attitude of "just let me at them". It s evident in his approach to our esteemed institutions of higher learning. He reaches out to one with one hand and shows his backside to the other. He looked inside the eye of the tiger when he spoke at the commencement ceremonies at Notre Dame. After only one week earlier signing a bill to restrict government funding to HSBC's. It's like he already has locked up one and is working on the other. It's like he's saying "I got this."

I'm Not Impressed

At first I couldn't figure out why County Commissioner Steve Mulroy would appear on a radio show in the city that probably none of his constituents would even hear. Then it suddenly made perfect sense. His goal wasn't to reach the people that were already in agreement with him. He is inconspicuously testing the waters before his proposed sexual discrimination legislation comes down to a city council vote. Ultimately his goal is to enact this legislation all across the city. His intent is to get the unsuspectimg, uninformed voters on his side beforehand. Then he can slide it in under their noses. I'm pretty sure this is an uphill battle already with the county commission being almost equally split down party and racial lines.

I learned today the commissioner was a civil rights lawyer in the past. We have several lawyers on the two boards. So I've gotten used to the double talk. Commissioner Mulroy made the comment that he didn't want to go on Mike Flemmings or Ben Ferguson's show. I can see why. Them or their audience wouldn't give him a pass. Me for one, I'm not impressed.

Stretchmarks

The person in charge or CEO of TMZ must undoubtedly be a homosexual or is deeply concerned with the Gay rights movement. They seem to have taken this story on single handedly or moreso than anybody else. I haven't seen coverage to this degree anywhere else. The story has taken on a life of it's own. I must admit these aren't the most flattering pictures Ms. PreJean could have taken in this instance but they have nothing to do with what she said. Whether she took a nude picture or not, men don't need to marry men. It's hard to reach the right that far from the left. This gives the word stretchmark a new meaning.

It's The Law

It gets frustrating when the only people that know I am right are the people trying to pull off the caper. They avoid debate by changing the subject or not giving you a chance to ask them any questions. I know it goes above most peoples head when I say." It's not against the law for a man to have sex with a consenting twelve year old boy." Why do you think none of the preist are in jail after raping hundreds of little boys? It's because nobody broke away kicking and screaming and ran to the police. If a man is accused of touching a minor girl he will get hung out to dry. Unless you're R.Kelly. Even then it costs you a lot of time and money.Tell me what man has knowingly had sex with several minor girls and is not in jail. It doesn't matter who you are and how much money you have. Look what happened to Warren Jeffs and what is happeningb to Tony Alamo right now. Liike it or not it's the law.

Pay Your Bills

This is a prime example of one of the other chickens bringing the fox into the hen house. The very elect have been deceived by this practice or either they have just sold out for money. How do you tell that young couple with the $250,000 house, but could only afford to spend $100,000 they should be responsible and live within their means? When they got a loan they never should have qualified for in the first place and now someone has shown up and promised to clear their credit up and modify their loans to a lower interest rate. It almost sounds too good to be true, and really it is just a temporary fix. I listened to the link below and it even started lo make sense to me.http://www.blogtalkradio.com/The-Deacon-Talks/2009/03/23/The-Deacon-TAlks-Mortgages

I heard a popular local pastor preach a sermon about us being in the midst of America's wealth systematically changing hands. His premise being that the economy is so bad people just want to get property off their hands at any cost. I wouldn't hold my breath though, trouble don't last always. "What goes up must come down" and vice versa I say. Ten years will have passed and blacks will be in the same shape we are now.Anything everybody is getting for free, can't be very valuable. Not that it's not good, but it just doesn't sale for a lot. Let's not miss out on the fire sale going on all across the country. While waiting for the giveaway. For the first time in recorded history real estate can be a liability. Let's not look for and start taking shortcuts and get caught up once again. That's what got us in the shape we're in now. The only way to assure that you have good credit is to "pay your bills".

Perez Hilton And His People Have Pull

We are living in strange times indeed. When a beautiful young woman ( Miss California Carrie Prejean) can be dragged through the mud for giving an honest answer to a loaded question during a beauty competition. Especially from a flaming homosexual, gossip spewing blogger like Perez Hilton. In my humble opinion he shouldn't have been a judge in the first place. Prejean basically said the same thing the California voters said at the polls last November. The Miss California pageant directors have lost any credibility they might have had before their latest statement. They have obviously folded under the pressure. The idea of stripping this winner of her crown is hypocritical as well as ridiculous. The picture in question this young lady posed for is no more racy than pictures possibly taken in the swimsuit competition in the pageant itself. When you look at all the opposition this lady has faced, one thing becomes painfully clear. Perez Hilton and his people have pull.

Souter Is A Centrist At Best

After a closer look at the tenure of Justice David Souter. There may have been a method to what some consider his madness. Though many Republicans consider him a dud and his appointment by the senior George Bush a mistake. Him stepping down at this pivotal pont in history makes me look at him a little differently than before. Had Souter been the hard core conservative Republicans expected him to be. These last eighteen years would've been a lot tougher on the reigning liberal movement. The hard core right wing would have had a clear path to advance their agenda.

A conclusion I have come to about all lawyers I've encountered is, "at their core they are all Conservative." When you look at the makeup of the Liberal bloc of the supreme court They are just a group of Conservatives with issues. You can't be a Conservative if you're GLBT or if you're pushing the feminist agenda. If you feel a woman has a right to choose or you can marry whomever you like. You're automatically assigned to the left. I think this was the case with Justice Souter. He didn't totally agree with the platform. I have my unproven suspisions what I think it was. For this reason, Souter is a Centrist at best.

Laced Up To Her Liking

Since when does a woman explain why she paid what she did for a pair of shoes? Michelle Obama paying $540 for a pair of tennis shoes is not that far fetched. I know people don't honestly think the first black first lady is going to change that age old tradition. Let's not split hairs about things that just are the way they are. I didn't hear anybody inquire about how much Jill Biden pays her beautician weekly to keep her roots in tact I do agree that's a lot to pay for what I think is an ugly pair of shoes. But obviously Michelle Obama doesn't think they are. They laced up to her liking.
